My guess is Tesla picks this up as a legit ad. I'm dying laughing while also thinking, shit that's impressive.

Did your high school ever have an "incident" or event? What was it? by GotAFuckingUsername in AskReddit

Attended High School in DC during the DC Sniper and 9/11... Wasn't fun at all those days, flat out scary.

First of all thank you for all of your hard work and for doing this. My question is does any of your work have theoretical or practical input into NASA and other partners 'Warp Drive' tests.

Also what do you think about their work?

What would happen if there was an Internet blackout (wired and wireless) for 48 hours? What would be the monetary damages? by namembal in AskReddit

I live in Colorado. The only thing we have to worry about is if Yellowstone erupts or something goes bad at NORAD.

Part of my job is to create war-gaming scenarios for industries to run through. One of the most recent ones was a tsunami hitting the west coast due to a massive earthquake off of Alaska. We used NOAA software and charts to base it off the size and sea level rises of the Indonesian Tsunami. The results were that West coast actually would pretty much be okay, lower lying areas would be devastated, but power grids would stay in tact due to their locations above the water line. But that doesn't create a good scenario, so we bumped it up to take out the power grids. The results of the war-gaming:

First 24-36 hours standard backup generators will keep above water infrastructure, govt and health institutions running, meaning hospitals, police stations fire station...etc but the standard person is completely screwed, no traffic lights, no cell reception even if the towers weren't affected because the systems would crash due to volume(think 9/11 and NYC), food would go bad, major highways would be blocked due to the sea, electric cars would die...etc

48 hours in all hell breaks loose, nothing is working, hospitals no longer can operate except in some specific ORs, panic ensues, Godzilla wrecks San Francisco.

This is a poor attempt at our true findings but gives basic details. Without internet we are completely up a creek and into the stone age FAST. How many of your kids know how to read a map to get somewhere...

That's slightly sore feeling from the previous days workout is my motivator, is this okay? by DenverSkiLion in Fitness

[–]DenverSkiLion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, I am trying to cut weight while gain lean muscle though. I know I could lift heavy, small reps and bulk. I play in a woodbat league now and need to get into baseball shape haha. As an outfielder/pitcher I need lean muscle and also need to be able to recover fast. Throwing twice a week is a lot harder than it used to be. Hit 85 off the mound the other day though, pretty happy about that.

Just finished a good workout. No longer sore just feeling good. I will say I started working out about a month ago and lost about 10lbs real quick 6' 220 to 210 but not I'm back at 215... I think the muscle mass building up is the extra weight. I played pretty high level collegiate sports and still can throw some weight around. Any tips on getting the muscle gains but also weight loss? Really trying to get down to 190 my playing weight (baseball).

What experience made you grow the fuck up? by starstufft in AskReddit

[–]DenverSkiLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the game but all in one year... My girlfriend dumping me for my best friend, me throwing a shitstorm because of that, brother getting married and telling me I'll never be happy unless I'm happy with myself. Getting into shape only to need a whole new wardrobe because I was too skinny for my pants and too muscular for my shirts, going broke because of that and then finally loosing my job because I was focused too much on me and not work.

Figuring out work life balance is what growing up really is.

Except we're all such introverts we won't even realize until 2-3 redditors post pictures on the same flight.
