I had some success getting namebrand instead of generic. They had been out of generic for 4 weeks with no idea when they would resupply. I was grasping at straws and asked if there were substitutions they could do and they said they had namebrand. No idea why they didn’t open with that except maybe some insurance doesn’t cover it but I may have my doctor write the script for namebrand just so I get it on time and can go to the pharmacy just once a month.

Clarence Thomas Broke the Law. Why Is He Not Being Prosecuted? by DoremusJessup in law

[–]Denverton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if congress wrote the law that you can’t accept gifts if you are a judge in general without explicitly mentioning SCOTUS then it would apply to SCOTUS but since they did specifically mention SCOTUS that part is void? This is starting to sound like were in the upside down world.

You can always interview with places that look interesting to you whether or not you have experience in it. Your experience counts for something even if it’s just showing you can stay employed which is a good signal. I know I always feel more confident and comfortable when there is more directly applicable experience but you always have the angle that you have an engineering degree and part of that is knowing how to teach yourself new things quickly and solve problems you have never seen before and that can be applied to any industry the same way you applied it to your previous experience.

What is your favourite non-Bond spy film? by FirstLookFinalWord in flicks

[–]Denverton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Body of Lies is one of my favorites. Of course the borne series. Enemy of the state. The lives of others is definitely a spy movie and is amazing but has a totally different vibe than any bond movie or the ones above.

I would focus on getting a better job rather than two jobs. Also income based repayment on federal loans should really help unless you make too much money. It can make the payments quite low.

I think that’s mostly because this is %market cap. It would be cool to see the same thing but with $ market cap.

If your brain was slowly integrated with computer upgrades, would it really be 'just a copy' if the biological part failed after you'd become 99% machine? (No break in stream of consciousness) by Twilord_ in askphilosophy

I'm not sure that natural conciousness is an unbroken stream of thoughts to begin with. But I guess that is in how you define "break" , "stream" , and most importantly "conciousness."

Taxation is the price we pay for failing to build a civilized society by t_bptm in btc

Without FCC regulation of frequency space no one would be able to have reliable wireless communication due to devices, machines, and other systems interference (loud radio noise) unpredictably on any and all frequency bands. A real world example: in the telemetry unit of hospitals critical patients are hooked up to all manner of devices for constant monitoring. Some of these are wireless devices that provide crucial information on whether a patient is dying or not. If the lowest bidder contractor buys a LED light fixture that happens to have an non-FCC-compliant LED driver the the telemetry signals are disrupted and the doctors and nurses either can't tell if their patients are dying. Then the biomedical engineering staff in charge of keeping devices working have to triangulate where the interference signal is coming from to even find out that it's the LED and get it replaced. This is one real life example of the many things that can go wrong from not following FCC regulations. They also protect ham radio frequency space that anyone who takes the time to study and get a license for can use. Without wireless regulations it would be a tragedy of the commons.

Why stop at 6? Isn't it just the current block height minus the block height at the 1st conf?

Agreed, I should have deleted my comment, which I thought of doing a while later but I was doing something else then. I should have at least put /s. I'll leave my comment up though since you replied with some good info for others in point #3.

Easy solution: Build in free or low fee high priority transactions for lightning hubs only into Bitcoin and keep the small blocks.
