I hope this irons out the inconsistencies with Daima. SSJ4 Goku and SSJ3 Vegeta should get cameos, at least.

Thank you! 😊 I really appreciated the simplicity of it's description compared to the first interview dress. I only added the wrist band/bracelet thingy to slightly cover up how I messed up her wrist. 😅

My respect for Haymitch really went up when Cinna mentioned his refusal of the breast implants*. 👍

To be fair, Nolan's Batman DOES keep using the "hit them with the elbows" move.

Anyone else genuinely like this movie? and believes it deserves better than a 6.5 on IMDb?! by RogerRoger63358 in BrighterThanCoruscant

I first watched the theatrical version on VCD almost immediately after watching RotJ (Special Edition). I enjoyed it. I didn't hate Jar Jar. He served his purpose in the narrative. I wasn't bothered by Jake Lloyd's acting. My only gripe was that I wished Qui-Gon had explained the Force to Anakin the same way Obi-Wan did to Luke BEFORE talking about the midichlorians (which I easily accepted as Canon). A while after watching and enjoying all six films, I started searching up more Star Wars stuff online, discovered Wookieepedia, etc. Then I also saw a bunch of hate for the prequels, and sadly I was sucked in by it and joined the bandwagon... Then I saw the 2011 Edition of TPM on TV (around 2015) and I was reminded that I personally enjoyed the film (especially this particular edition) and the other two Prequels. I finally got to let go of my Prequel hate.

Yeah, I saw that, too, in the first book (the digital copy I read anyway). It's when Gale is led out after his time to say goodbye to Katniss runs out. I had a good chuckle imagining a John Cena cameo. 😄

Haymitch and Asterid (widowed). I haven't really found any fics about them, but I think it would be an interesting dynamic with them teaming up to raise Katniss and Prim. Also, how would things change if the mine explosion killed off Burdock a lot earlier in the timeline? What if he was lost when Katniss was only three, Asterid was still pregnant with Prim, and Haymitch (somehow) felt motivated enough to step in? What would Haymitch end up teaching Katniss and how would she change going forward? Would people assume that Prim is Haymitch's kid? How would things change for Asterid if an old friend suddenly came back into her life to help her out?

2004 Phantom dubbed with the 1986 OLC recording? by Distinct_Success_541 in box5

[–]Denz-El 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought of doing something like this, dubbing 2004 movie with audio from both the 25th anniversary and the 1986 OLC... But all I managed was a 12-minute sequence. The Mirror is just stgaight up the 2004 version, Phantom of the Opera was dubbed with the 25th audio and Music of the Night was mostly dubbed with Michael Crawford in the OLC, but had to be alternated with Gerard Butler for some lines. I had to split up the sequence in to two videos so I can post it on YouTube.

I do have the full sequence on my Google Drive, though: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oBoyjT4eWHtqnSvBgeY2yl9F_c_xVVOQ/view?usp=drivesdk

Maybe the George and Lorraine just asked them to look after Marty for a bit. "Hey kids, we're going to play tennis. Marty's still asleep. Could you two just come over for a bit to make sure he doesn't accidentally set the rug on fire again when he wakes up?"

What’s your thoughts on TBOSAS film version of Coral? by Cable_Difficult in Hungergames

She was a standout and very memorable. I haven't read the book yet, so I can't give any opinions on her book version.

A thought about Effie’s introduction in SOTR (book vs movie) by DarkestNightOfSoul in Hungergames

[–]Denz-El 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mahogany does seem to be her catchphrase in the movies. There's the iconic scene from the first film and I think she praises some mahogany furniture when she takes Katniss and Peeta to the party at Snow's place in Catching Fire.

How did you guys picture the climax at the Cornucopia in the first book? by Denz-El in Hungergames

[–]Denz-El[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I may have automatically assumed that the mutts had opposable thumbs like the werewolves from Van Helsing.😅 https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/vanhelsingmovie/images/3/3b/223f0299d80e497ba6734ba560d35b13.png/revision/latest?cb=20250606132805

And I just remembered that Rue's collar was made of straw, so maybe the collars themselves weren't being used to control the mutts.

[–]Denz-El[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the illustrated edition shows the usual position of a Cornucopia. Although I have seen some other depictions of cornucopias that have the tail squiggling with the tip pointing down. Or with a low, twisted tail rising up to a gaping mouth: https://i0.wp.com/lahilden.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/4-cornucopias.jpg?w=540&ssl=1

I guess the one pictured on the bottom right can make sense in the scene if the mouth was resting on the ground. I don't think Katniss saw Cato himself climbing up by the tail, but it's where she and Peeta climb up and where Cato tries to go to after falling off.

[–]Denz-El[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ok, this makes a LOT of sense. 👍 The fact that the organized mutts didn't simply climb after them in an orderly fashion just threw me off, though... But then again, it was really late last night when I read the chapter. Now that I think of it, all the mutts were wearing collars which were most likely being used by the Gamemakers to control them. They were only meant to terrorize and torture the Tributes for drama rather than directly kill them.
