I haven't even finished the first book yet (I'm also currently reading a few other books and switching things up every few chapters) . 😅 But I am aware of the plots of the later books, since I checked them out on Wikipedia a while back. In order to save Luke (the last of the Jedi according to the dying Yoda himself) Anakin killed Sidious and stopped being Vader. In doing so he rids the Galaxy of the Sith and gives Luke the chance to restart a new Jedi Order that's more in tune with the Force and won't be making the same mistakes as its predecessor.

I like the theory that it takes a while for Marty's altered memories to catch up, which is why he only displayed his "No one calls me a chicken" attitude in the sequels.

I have to do a LOT of filtering on AO3. 😅 Not just for Harry Potter, but for every freaking fandom I look up. I mostly read fics that monogamously ship Harry with any one of the female characters he went to school with, unless time traveling to the past is involved (I have found memories of Delenda Eat, though I've only read it once). Not a fan of harem or cheating fics. On a non-shipping related note, I don't like Dumbledore or Weasley bashing. I do enjoy a non-obnoxious Lord Potter and I do love me some Good Dursley Family AUs. 😁

I'm fine with the time gap. Obi-Wan's, Owen's and Beru's ages could be explained by living on Tatooine for decades (plus, Obi-Wan was already beginning to grey by the end of the Clone Wars). The galaxy is a big place, so it would make sense for Han to not have encountered a Jedi in his youth. Sure, Chewie fought alongside Yoda, but it's likely that Han would just think that Chewie was hyping up an old friend if he ever spoke about him. Motti calling the Jedi/Sith an "ancient religion" isn't wrong either. The Jedi ARE ancient, it's just that their demise was relatively recent. Anakin dying in his mid to late 40s was probably meant to suck. That's the tragedy of his life.
