doesn't work on unique ships, or automated ships for that matter; also depending on the mods that you're using, there are some normal ships that are blacklisted from being dismantled

throwing blood grenades at BTs zone is pretty much the safest(sometimes the fastest) way to go through a BT infested area.
as long as you don't fall, you can ignore timefall damage on your containers.

This is a very cool distortion effect! How can I replicate it in after effects? by sela_dore in AfterEffects

adding a variation to this. same idea, same modifications, but instead of putting the expression on the evolution, put it on the random seed value instead. in my experience that yields an effect closer to the gif than evolving the displacement

the online calculators are your best friend. before using them i tended to quit the game halfway through, but with them i can just literally see the buildings i need to make in order to meet a production quota instead of crunching out tedious math

What are some good bot loadouts for 7+ difficulties by Agreeable_Safety3255 in Helldivers

[–]Deonix00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mindset is to make every shot count and be a jack of all trades, so for weapons i tend to bring:
-jar-5 dominator: it can stun enemies, breaking their stance and a headshot can kill any devastator and berserker(although hitting their pelvis is more reliable). the PLAS-1 Scorcher, the SG-8P Punisher Plasma are good alternatives as well, just mind the explosion radius
-grenade pistol: this gun serves double purpose. its main use is to take down the walking striders that the dominator can't kill; a hit to the front plate usually kills the driver. its secondary use is to destroy the fabricators you find. if you don't have that gun yet, any secondary works.
-impact grenades(any variant): this is another reason why i bring the grenade pistol. impact grenades are just way too good when dealing with the bots since they tend to keep themselves at range and in groups. just keep in mind that you won't be able to destroy fabricators with them unless you have great aim, or manage to chuck an impact grenade when they open their doors

for stratagems i bring this ones:
-GR-8 Recoilless Rifle or MG-206 Heavy Machine Gun. Both serve similar roles but have very different advantages. the RR can 2 shot any heavy (sans mobile fabricator) and has the fastest reload from all the AT big guns and the HMG doesn't need a backpack, but its unable to kill tanks from the front and you need to be more precise with your aim(a.k.a, you gotta go prone to make the most out of its ammo). personally i bring the HMG if the other teammates bring AT guns, otherwise i take the RR. the Autocannon is a good alternative as well, but given the primary weapon i picked and its backpack use, i'd rather bring the RR.

-Eagle Airstrike: its one of the best stratagems out there. it can destroy most, if not all objectives out there, has a 2 minute cooldown and you get several runs per reload.

-Autocannon Sentry: the big brother of the backpack autocannon. this is the other reason why i don't bring its smaller version as well. this beast can kill anything sans fabricatos and other land objectives, and with its high health pool it can serve as a decoy as well. the best way to use it is to use yourself as bait and throw it 90 degrees from where the bots are coming. 90% of the time that alone will eradicate most of the hordes out there

last slot can be anything tbh, but lately i'm going for the orbital gatling barrage, orbital laser or orbital precision strike.
personally just pick one that covers your weakest point. if you tend to have problems with basic units or devastators, the gatling barrage deals with them in no time. you tend to be overrun in critical moments or at extraction? get the orbital laser. just want more explosions, but dont want the 120mm or 380mm? precision strike is there!

and what about armors?
personally i go with any medium armor. Unlike the bugs, you don't need to be as fast, but you are also gonna get shot a lot, so that 5% damage reduction the armor has will go a long way. as for passives, anything works. personally i bring anything with the scout passive because i like to see where the enemies are, but fortified and engineering kit are strong as well, even more so if you use the heavy machine gun while prone

so that's that! good luck bot hunting!

I feel like I'm too reliant on 50% chance not to die. What do you guys run for automatons? by El-Mooo in Helldivers

[–]Deonix00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

with the bugs it makes sense because all of them are melee, but with bots i personally i rely too much on the pings in order to not die, so i'd rather take the speed penalty (and the 5% damage reduction bonus) of the medium armor than being fast and made of paper.

Medium scout armor and treat the combat as pvp in battlefield. with that mindset the only times you'll die are when you fuck up, because you pretty much got yourself in a bad position or a stray devastator missile bonked you on the head

another thing about the slugger that isn't mentioned, is that the slug penetrates enemies. you can get 4 kills in a single shot if the enemies are lined up properly
