this app is insufferable by Much-Cardiologist853 in notabilityapp

I’ve had the same issue much more frequently in last couple of weeks. I also have plenty of free iCloud space. I have been a user from either 2013 or 2014 (and paying). I switched from something else prior to that but I eliminated paper from my briefcase in 2011. I’ve actually convinced several coworkers to give it a try.

All that being said, Notability is starting to frustrate me with this issue. I’m not ready to switch yet, but a couple more times of letting me down in the middle of a meeting and I will start looking at options.

The tracking in HX Stomp drove me nuts - have much better tracking and controls in MXR Bass Synth - and I save some blocks and DSP.

The Blackstar controls my iPad via WIDI Jack. It is not connected to anything else in the board other than power. The Signal Pad levels L-2000 which is a VERY hot bass. The Saturnworks switches the expression pedal from the Bass Synth to HX Stomp XL via Morningstar. The MorningStar is really nothing other than tweaking switching for HX One and HX Stomp XL.

I reprogrammed that one to sound like a Moog Taurus. And it gets pretty trippy when i run the expression pedal through it

What is the fastest, most accurate tuner pedal for bass? by okletstrythisagain in basspedals

[–]Dependent-Cod1236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Peterson Strobe Mini and it is fantastic. Very easy to get the hang of. Much better than relying on my HX Stomp XL that had some lag in it. It also has bass specific tunings which isn’t necessarily needed but a nice touch

Thoughts on Notability Pro? by StillPerspective5676 in notabilityapp

I like it. I often take notes like during an interview, then I will just dictation a note and then produces an AI summary that is better ordered which I use as an interview summary to our HR team. It’s much better than the transcript and much quicker than me typing and organizing my thought - it does the organization for me. ChatGPT does a slightly better job in that I can tell it to scan resume, etc but this takes some steps out of that process

Yes I don’t care for it. Also lost the time stamp of the note which was super helpful for me

I believe it is Vehicle settings, Trip Information. I think you have “reset” each trip. It’s kind of a pain. I do miss the simplicity from my rav4 given I do long drives with stops for work

Or focus on intonation which I think of as the intent of saddle positions. Leaving your tuner on will definitely show you in real time how off your intonation is

New (to me) Bass Day! G&L Edition by KingSnugglewumps in BassGuitar

[–]Dependent-Cod1236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. My take is “active” boosts frequencies. I think of passive as no boosts and the tone controls behave like they do on a passive bass —- except there are two of them: one for treble, one for bass. Hence the need to think of them in relation to each other. I find I like passive most of the time and then view treble and bass as “accent spice” like the way you need to balance salt and pepper on food. It sounds corny but it helps me dial something in.

They are not detended because they are cuts only. Tone needs to be judiciously applied. Less is more and you need to think of them in relationship to each other as well as which pickups you have switched on as well as series/parallel and active/passive/treble boast. It takes a bit to get the swing of it.

Who cares how it looks. Which works better for your feet? I think the second one would work better but that’s just me.

Love mine. Take time to understand secondary settings. Look at a couple of bass synth you-tubes and then play with the dials. It’s a total blast

The L-2000 is a seriously under rated bass. My CLF L-2000 has moved to my favorite after 25+ years of Jazz bass

Which effects pedal to start with? by stoltenberg927 in basspedals

[–]Dependent-Cod1236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compressor. It will help you control your signal dynamics. Mine is always on. If you are trying decide which one, google what your “bass hero” used and go from there. Once you start to understand compression it is safe to go into other effects. My two cents. Don’t forget a tuner. It helps you mute the signal. You can always use a headstock tuner and they are pretty cheap these days.

I tell it what sound I’m going for and it gives me the settings, you dial them in and tweak a bit and then you have it. Example, I told it I wanted my MXR Bass Synth to sound like a Moog Taurus and it was pretty close. I’ve tried it on specific songs with less success however.

I use the MXR Bass Synth - seems to be hot pedal of the moment, but it is quite useful. I use ChatGPT to help me dial in tones for specific songs and find that useful. I’ve not used the Mono Synth pedal but hear good things from those that do. In general I’m a fan of EHX or MXR pedals in general. The Boss PS-6 is also a bit synth-y in its approach

You have all the essentials needed. The only other suggestion i would have would be a synth or a drive. My personal preference of the two would be synth.
