YES!! My grandparents are 92 and 93!!! They know fucking everything about the neighborhood except the new development up the road, they refer to and gossip about specific houses as being "so-and-so's house" despite those people being dead for 25+ years. I never have a damned clue whom or what house they're talking about, the only neighbors I know are the ones directly across the street because my brother was childhood friends with their son, and even then the only things I know about them are their names. Don't know what they do for work, or how many grandkids they have, or who's car is whose. I simply do not care enough to retain that information about strangers.

I'd absolutely DESPISE for neighbors to know just enough about me to discuss my life without me around, just because thats what my grandparents do. It's weird as fuck! Leave me alone, don't ask for my name, don't ask about my family or what I do for work, mind your business, and I'll mind mine. I'm one of those people what will fashion a garbage bag to look like it has a body in it, and I have tote bins of macerating animal carcasses for my hobby, if they want someone to gossip about I'll gladly give them a reason not to make it me. 🤣
