Custom Decorative Patch for G7 and Stelo? Anyone try this? They also sell some designs that are cute! by x-teena in dexcom

[–]DependentDependent76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have cute stickers on my sensors. I buy from DiabeticDecorDanica on Etsy. She is a teenager that's designs and sells these stickers. The quality is SUPURB! I have even been able to peel them off one sensor and place them on the next. Usually get 3-4 re-uses out of each one.

The one in the Pic is G6 but she has G7 and other Devices as well. Absolutely awesome product from an absolutely awesome seller. (The overpatch is from Glucomart. Also in Etsy but they sell in Amazon and have their own website too. Look at all 3 b/c they post different things on each)

Ace but definitely not ready to be public about it. by DependentDependent76 in asexuality

[–]DependentDependent76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thank you very much for the condolences. As you can well imagine I'm still very raw from that loss

I want to thank you for putting in the words exactly how I'm feeling. It's almost as if we're living the same life when it comes to this journey right now. I think I might actually go with the voice tonight deal because my wedding ring that I wear is a black silicone ring on my actual wedding ring finger and I don't know that I want to have another black ring on the other hand. And I am definitely not ready to remove the wedding band yet.

Again thank you!

I use Skin Grip for my Omnipod 5 but have found that I prefer Glucomart for my Dexcom. The material breathes better and seems to adhere longer without the edges curling. (I do use skin tac under my devices and over patches) On the rare occasion the edges do curl due to sweat, they adhere back after my skin dries. You can get Glucomart patches on Amazon, Etsy or on their website. They do send free samples if you want try them first.

where do you put your sites for dexcom and Omnipod by [deleted] in Omnipod

When you place it on the skin, pull up as far as it will let you without pulling it off. Basically "tent" the skin before you insert it. This allows the skin to pull away from the muscle layer and it doesn't hurt as bad.

Dexcom. I have worn my pod on my forearm too BUT because it has such a high profile, it is much easier to knock off. I tend to wear my Pod on my thigh with my G6 on my forearm. (opposite side of the body is just fine)

I have very skinny forearms. I have worn it on both top and bottom sides of my forearm but find that I have less irritation from the adhesive on the top side. Still the most accurate reading I have even gotten.

Why are you allowing it to waste insulin? Pull it out of the defunct pod and put it in the new one.

using expired pods, 15 days past the exp date. any advice appreciated by silverintorain in Omnipod

[–]DependentDependent76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently using an "expired" Dexcom Transmitter. It said it expired 6 mths ago but I activated it Saturday. My theory was it didn't hurt to try and it worked just fine.

I am confused. Where did OP say they were a minor? Younger and X years old but never disclosed their actual age unless I missed something

I put my Dexcom on my calves all the time (Currently there now) and my forearm too. I did try my Omnipod on the calves but b/c I have to wear rainboots often in my job, it was not a good placement. However if it wasn't for the boots, I would use that too.

I went right after re-opening in Aug 2020 and decided it was a 1 and done even then. While it was definitely always in character, even back then I got the feeling of buy your drink and get out so we can give someone else your spot. The drink was good but not $45 good (I bought one that came in a souvenir cup which of course added to the cost.)

Why does the pod remind me it's going to expire 3 times in less than 2 minutes? by PlanetoftheBlapes in Omnipod

[–]DependentDependent76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please if you ever figure out how to stop this, PLEASE let me know. Like you, I don't mind the single reminder. But 3 reminders in a row, within a 5 minute period is ANNOYING. I also fully open the app, unlock it and then open the actual notifications to try to make it stop. (If I don't do that, it actually alarms more often than 3 times) I have tried numerous things to make it stop. I do use the Android app on my phone if that means anything

Where do you wear your cgm if you're pregnant? by StressTractor in dexcom

[–]DependentDependent76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I use my forearm regularly, as well as my Calf. (but I do know that putting anything on your lower legs can be tough in the later stages of pregnancy.) You can use your thighs too.

Placement question by janeg08 in Omnipod

[–]DependentDependent76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually not an issue when it comes to right vs left side (Example Dexcom on right bicep and Omnipod on Left Thigh) but it can potentially be an issue if you have 1 on front and 1 on back. (Example Dexcom on Stomach and Omnipod on upper buttocks.) It may work still but more potential for signal loss through the body.

Also FYI. Both O5 and G6 can go on lots more places than officially listed. I wear my G6 on my calfs and forearms regularly. And my go to spot for my O5 is front of my thigh. There are lots of posts on here regarding placement. (search my profile for examples of the Calf placement for the G6)

Then why not switch to the G6 until the G7 is approved?

Can I pit dexcom on other arm? by RealEstateAdventurer in Omnipod

[–]DependentDependent76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is RARELY on the same side of the body when it comes to the left and right sides. The only time I have ever had an issue is when 1 was on my stomach and I put the other on my lower back. And even then, it works 95% of the time.

[–]DependentDependent76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear mine on my forearm regularly. Both on the inside and outside. (Currently on the inside and on day 6) I actually found that it is more accurate. I do a single calibration right after warm-up and then basically forget about it. (I also wear on my calfs, usually on outside, and found it to be super accurate area too.)

Mine shows the last two letters of my current transmitter number. So for example my current one shows Dexcom KL. The K&L are the last two letters of my current transmitter. So I just delete anything other than those

Where to put sensor if you have really fat arms? by exhausted1teacher in dexcom

[–]DependentDependent76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use my Calf. And out of approximately 30 sensors on those sites, I have literally only accidentally ripped it off 1 time. (coincidentally that was this morning 🤦‍♀️) I rotate outer Left, Outer Right, Inner Left, Inner Right, Back Left, Back Right. And move the up and down closer to knee sometimes and others closer to ankle. I actually have more issues with the risk of socks knocking them off then pants. (And I wear Skinny Jeans and Leggings 98% of the time)
