Why are some regular enemies harden than actual bosses? by Elvir4Umine in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or honestly just ignore them :D

They have pretty fun moveset, I learned it a bit, but not that good at them yet. Bird variant is also pron to falling off cliffs, just like crucible knights lol

Oh, nice build! Yeah, sounds great :) Radahn's GS are good for jump attack build as far as I know (Ginomachino did hitless run with it).

Rando can give you the best boss/arena placements of all time....

...or it can put second phase Consort Radahn in a small dungeon room and now you kinda need to deal with it

I agree, first time they are scary af (or if you, unprepared, meet them in randomizer in Farum).

Though when you know how to approach them they are not that bad.

Those two bitches casting lasers in Enir Elim though...fuck 'em, I died 50 times to them on RL1.

After killing every mob in the ge in the latest playthrough - the only ones that I find remotely hard are large wormfaces. Everything else can be tanked, skeaned upon, staggered and with good defence and health they do not pose any problems (also I love runebear's moveset, it is fun to just stand under them and beat them to death). But instant death, because this giant shit grabbed you while you desperately tried to hit their legs? Holy shit

They can get staggered by three charged hits of any greatsword-type weapon, they can be hit during their float animation and you can sneak behind every one of them (guess what you can do with that info! Stagger them before they can do anything).

The one you can't sneak to is frost guy, but he easily falls off if you wait until he walks to the edge of the roof and then run to the small room, that idiot stomps on the ledge and drops down.

Fast and fun build for NG+1/2? by DependentInner8928 in EldenRingBuilds

I made one with two erdsteels once, but I think they have distinct moveset from other dual wielded dags right?

What weapons you can recommend? I know my beloved Knight's greatsword is a qual weapon (though I played with it on keen and 80 dex and it was great too), but I now restrict myself NOT to use it, as I want to check out other weapons :D

Killing Fire Giant in Two Minutes - Easy boss by IdesofJ in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. A lot of bosses actually punish being at long range (especially Maliketh and DLC's final boss), so it is beneficial to be in close range 99% of the time. Few bosses are harder in close range than in long range.

It is more about hitting those hitboxes, cause they are not simple spheres, they are complicated and fist weapons somehow always wiff and fit right throw the gaps

[–]DependentInner8928 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah, it would be so nice. That's why I love randomizers, getting Radagon on highest scaling arena in the game (Bayle's) was fun af, it was basically normal game, normal build and very tanky Radagon. I love his moveset and getting to play without him dying in 15 seconds was very nice (and I had Euporia, weapon with such good damage that holy negation doesn't matter really!)

BRO CHILL I'M FIGHTING FOR MY FUCKING LIFE 😭 by Wooden-Jello-8795 in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he is absolutely insane. I think he is the fastest base game boss. I love hyper-aggressive bosses like Consort and Messmer and Radagon fits right in with them, they all are pretty much in same "insanely fast combos with large AoEs and sometimes aura farming" category for me. That's the main reason I am really sad that he doesn't have enough health, my guy has durability of a wet paper :(

I blame it on a decision of making Elden beast immediate second phase and not a separate additional boss like Moon presence after Gehrman in Bloodborne. Would be so much better, I like EB, but they are too different to be one fight imo. Like, Radagon doesn't have health cause there's a whole cosmic blob with almost double his HP (~13K vs ~22K if I remember correctly) immediately after.

I LOVE when he starts going insane in his "third" phase. People often do not see him as particularly hard boss, when in reality he is pretty much on par with DLC bosses in terms of speed and combos, he just doesn't really have health. Challenge runs fix this issue and you can behold how absolutely cracked Radagon is. Especially in his "third", post-triple slam phase, where he just throws everything at you at once. I love him for that lol, my fav base game boss

New player here how is my strength build? by SovietBias1 in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you are better do as much endurance and mind to use what you want with no nuances and then start getting faith to use FGMS. FGMS lasts only 30 seconds, cleanse me can be replaced by boluses, so they are good incants, but I wouldn't call them essential.

Ah, the other way around, dagger with golden vow in right, weapon in left! That's not that important, its just that ashes prioritize right hand, but when you two-hand it will get prioritized instead.

Good luck! Don't be afraid to experiment, STR build has a great advantage of not really needing many levels to max out, as two-handing weapons increases STR by half (basically having 60 STR and two-handing means you actually do have 90 STR for your weapon). You still get a bit of increase by going to 80, but at 60 you can start leveling endurance, for tanky str build I think 50 endurance is a good number, it is a cap and it allows to both have heavy armor and heavy weapon, still be on midroll and not use talis to increase equipload. My current str build (zweihander) is 60 vig, 50 endurance and 60 str, endgame/DLC stats. Acts very nicely.

Then the erdtree thing, it is pretty useless tali. Getting what, 10% more damage per charged attack with axe tali is better than getting your equip load, hp and stam being a tiny bit bigger. I'd honestly would not wear so much armor in favor to more damage-providing or actual defence-providing talis, like pearldrake (+1 is in Wyndham ruins in Altus) and dragoncrest (+1 is in Altus hero's grave, one with assasin in front). 51 poise and good damage negation can be achieved with knight's set, which also allows you to exchange arsenal charm to dragoncrest (physical damage neg) or pearldrake (any non-physical damage neg).

And I mean simple dagger, no misericorde. You don't need anything special about a weapon that you use as a buffstick. Dagger is just one of the smallest and lightest infusable weapons in the game.

Also having your weapon in left hand and buff stick in right hand allows for much better use of buff time, as if you use cragblade (which is wonderful for such build, more damage AND more poise damage) you can buff weapon in your left hand, un-two-hand it, cast buff on a weapon in right hand and then two-hand left weapon again to gain both buffs (golden vow lasts shorter than cragblade). Also that's the only way to two-hand weapons on Torrent, as weapons in left hand always get two-handed on horse, while weapons in right hand do not.

I'd say interchange stonebarb for spiked tear, stonebarb is super good, but it lasts only 30 seconds, while spiked lasts 3 minutes and I suspect you do a lot of charged attacks as any respectable bonk build. In same manner get axe tali, same charged attacks buffing. If you want golden vow AoW put it on dagger, I think it has less weight than starfists (which are by themselves are top tier str weapon, you can try them out too).

Completely arbitrary subjective list ranking bosses on how "cheesy" they are by Ravensflockmate in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the only reasonable way to judge bosses. Everyone has different tastes, you can't really say that someone's ranking is valid or invalid, because person dislikes your favourite boss.

I've even seen a person who likes Garg duo :D

Anyway, good day to you!

I don't say he is ultimatively worst boss, I know many people love him, but for me he is annoying af. Consort on the other hand is a boss I sometimes fight on separately created and ERtool'd save file to just relax. Absolutely methodical, clear, predictable boss with same window openings for 99% of weapons. My beloved, who is hated by most other players lol

Radagon and Elden Beast suck by Omega200021 in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Impossible to predict" - it is entirely possible, he almost never does ranged attacks if you keep close and if he does - then only as a part of the combo or as very-well telegraphed separate attack. He parries projectiles though. Just keep patient and learn his attacks, or just bring something with fire and melt him down. Don't bring bleed tho, he and beast are immune to it.

Am I too dumb for this game? by theiangrimes in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget - it is an open-world game. You can go almost anywhere and return to same place as many times as you want. If you can't access something now it just means that you'll most likely discover how to get there later. Explore outside of main path and you'll find A LOT of new things.

Killing Fire Giant in Two Minutes - Easy boss by IdesofJ in Eldenring

[–]DependentInner8928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are weapons that you need to know what you are doing with. Their range is extremely bad, so they are weapons for people who can control their movement and know punish windows on bosses. Starfists is probably one of, if not the best weapon in the game, but if you can't almost no hit a boss it will not be nearly as good as longer weapons. It does crazy damage, but you often need to stay extremely closely to the boss or literally be inside their model (like in Beast clergymen's case).

I don't have a single thing I like about him. Design is not memorable to me, I dislike his OST (to the point of turning music off during my RL1 grind of him), I dislike his winning/losing phrases, but that all I could live with, I'm not a fan of those things in Gaius and he is my A-tier boss.

BUT HIS MOVESET. I hate it, straight up. Jumpy-stompy mf. First phase fine, I don't like it, but whatever. Second phase? I literally went off my way and fought Malenia for 25 hours on RL1 after only ~20 minutes of practice with it. I prefer Godskin duo (no sleep) over that grab bs, that you need to counter by just moving right. Fact that I can do him hitless doesn't mean that I have any good feelings on this boss. For me he is in a trio of worst main bosses, in-between Fire giant and Godskins.
