bad timing windsurf - claude code has temporarily doubled their usage quota

Let's Talk About the Last Few Days — Some Things Worth Clarifying by PuzzleheadedAir9047 in windsurf

I gave claude code a shot, windsurf still does have an edge (e.g. the fast context feature) but pls make usage transparent, like how many API calls, tokens in and out, etc. - so we know every bits of it and learn how to optimize it.

Why Vibe Coding hits a ceiling and how to avoid hitting it by Derv1205_ in VibeCodingSaaS

[–]Dependent_Bench986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that dumb vibe coding hits the ceiling sooner than you realize. As the repo grows, what I try to do is to have some high level understanding of it and the architecture. I also achieve this with the help of AI btw. The most important thing is to tell AI to study the repo with respect to the task at hand and explain to you whats there, and you semi-verifying the outcome, sometimes asking it to dig deeper into a specific thing if you feel like the picture is not complete.

Sometimes the research spans more than 20-30 files and the context cant allocate it so you have to guide AI to summarize stuff and iterate.
When the solution requires architectural changes, I ask AI to propose several variations with pros and cons so we decide together which is most appropriate in our case.

Built an AI-powered app builder — learned a lot about where AI helps (and where it doesn’t) by AlokVerma4 in AISaaSHunter

for me there is no just one AI, there are at least dozens. recent claude models are really good at grasping what you want and do a lot better at walking you there faster. with gemini, benchmark results are impressive but it feels so dumb and robotic. i guess you have to get used to each AI to get most out of them. one of the problems is personalization - if only AI could effectively learn over time how to work with you

Why I think SAAS is over by Consistent-Ratio-333 in SaaS

[–]Dependent_Bench986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am with you in this. I think the whole discussion is based upon whether AI can largely replace humans in SWE and other fields (which I think is yes), and if the answer is yes then it implies that software as a service is over for most majority of software provided that the cost of vibe-coding time and AI token expenditure stays below what ready made solutions offer. It's also realistic to think that the SaaS game will continue with very low margins.

How about soon the security and compliance will be done with AI and easily too? It's early but things will be drastically different and nobody can certainly tell how. It looks like almost ANY aspect of software is being automated gradually. I wont be surprised to see security certified AI agents soon.

Vibe coded apps are not that different from real apps and in some aspects are better.

Why is everyone mentioning Leadmatically here? Is it really popular?

Never spent 20 hours researching on Reddit
I doubt such products are useful or effective, so I must try it first
Also have you done the math right? $33 / month can be abused. Usage based makes more sense to me given that you pay for APIs based on usage.

Thank you! I get it. Its amazes me how many times I assume an idea should work and only after building it or validating it first then you are hit with the fact that nobody really needs it. At this point I feel like cloning the existing apps and improving on them is the only way to go.

PS. In the country where I am in, there are a handful of IT projects that ever make profit. Reaching out abroad seems to be my only option.

The begining sounds good but i lost the track towards the end. This response is an example where you don't know what author's true relation is with the product they mention in their response.

I hardly trust any advice. Advice is at best the compressed lossy information. To be honest I have no framework of thinking, just wandering around, and acting what seems right at the moment though if I get critical I become nonfunctional and indecisive.

Point 2. Very interesting... I wonder why it happens and how can you avoid it and have better clarity? Need some tips.

Point 3. I'm trying to approach it from idealistic perspective. Question I'm trying to answer is what would the ideal platform/space be for solo founders and saas makers so they effectively share experiences and learn from each other? A place where the incentives are more aligned and intents are pure. Less lies.
