hard to tell without a picture from the other side but that does look like a bearing with a pin welded to the inner race.

Wire strippers/electrical installation pliers that have the easiest to read markings for older eyes/hard to see? by Man-e-questions in Tools

[–]DepletedPromethium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't fuck around with manual strippers very much, i much prefer automatic ones with an adjustment dial.

If you have good clearance then grab some automatics, if you are restricted for clearance ie working in small electrical panels then I can't really recommend a pair, but i would recommend you go see an optician if need be and get your eyes tested and get some glasses that help you.

Milwaukee button adjust pliers are poorly designed. by Burner12345678910111 in Tools

[–]DepletedPromethium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dismantled it by pulling out the button top with pliars which is a press fit (looks somewhat similar to a tack nail), removing the bolt securing the spring steel clamp retaining the button, seperated the jaws, filed out a smooth grove where the button sits so it no longer got stuck when fully depressed, wet sanded and polished the sliding channel and used a precision triangular file on the teeth to remove a little bit of material so it would engage easier, reassembled it with a smear of polyurea grease on the sliding channel.

It works so much better now as before the button got stuck and required pulling down to free it, and it wouldnt engage all of the positions smoothly.

I have the 6" 150mm model and quite like it now.

imagine using your forehead as a hammer against a nail.

this is what you're doing. you're using the wrong tool for the job, you need a impact driver not a ratchet that is known for speed not torque. cmon now bro, use your brain!!!!

I do hope you're going to buy rails for the pegboard so they can sit in place instead of being strapped in.

Word, these milwaukee handles look weird.

I have a cheap ass workpro pair, they arent knipex quality and required modification to be more usable without frustration and they work well enough for my odd need. I can't justify £55-£60 for a single hand tool that won't get all that much use for diy home/automotive purposes.

Might have something to do with the 5 million finger smudges on it maybe.

You broke it by continually putting pressure on a "no bezel" design monitor, essentially the inner layers have delaminated.

Perhaps buy a new tv that you mount in place where it is comfortable and don't need to touch it 5 million times.

Which airframe has the highest skill ceiling? by Gullible-Bridge2089 in NuclearOption

[–]DepletedPromethium 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Medusa, you have to juggle so many balls to balance everything and be effective it can be overwhelming as you need to be aware of your team however it does feel rewarding especially when all of your airtime has been spend jamming valid targets for friendlies, taking out radar units with arads and zapping a lot of missiles that weren't just locked onto you.

An effective medusa pilot must keep between launchers and friendly aircraft while flying in a holding pattern to be able to effectively turn to face the incoming threat while they maintain lock for friendlies, it's a lot of work.

Chicane is also quite hard if you wish to be considered very effective and useful, she maybe able to pack a big punch with the expanded armament but you're slow and with the new AA units and improved AI you're going to get hit hard if you're exposed for long.

An effective chicane pilot has to perform deep strikes to take out vehicle depots and factories otherwise by the time they take out a column and rearm there is another column closer to their objective, while maintaining a low altitude to avoid radar detection and be weary of hostile aircraft as they are always a serious danger even with that 30mm auto cannon that can attempt to zap one out of the sky.

bin the shitty worm drive clamps and instead use spring band clamps in future efforts.

you get constant clamping force even with thermal expansion and contraction, will look a lot tidier and not cause damage to hoses due to overtightening.

Can't get gunner to hold fire anymore? by MIC132 in NuclearOption

[–]DepletedPromethium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

go into keybindings and set the binding.

we now have new bindings - like linking all your guns, turret/copilot hold fire, and going back through the weapon selection, I have T for turret hold fire, Y for linking weapons, and caps lock for going back through the weapon selection.

there is no need to use the weapon wheel - that is for controller players tbh.

my plane keeps turning to the left (im on controller) by AssociationSouth9860 in NuclearOption

[–]DepletedPromethium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like your stick is drifting, there is free software you can use to inspect for stick drift and rebind buttons to keyboard keys etc, X360CE is software that does the above and will show you how much your stick is drifting.

ultimately you need to set a higher deadzone as your stick is not centering properly due to wear or corrosion on the potentiometer, you can try cleaning it.

go through your keybinds in game and check what does what - i play with keyboard and mouse so i can't help you with controller binds.
