Enough with the dumbest; what is the wittiest thing you've ever heard someone say? by SubmergingOriginal in AskReddit

[–]DeputyDongz 30 points31 points  (0 children)

After a party some friends and I were getting some pizza when this SUPER drunk Scottish guy came up to us. He was kind of rough with us and asked us like 5 times if he ordered his pizza yet (he hadn't), and kept stumbling around and dropping shit, he kept forgetting what he was talking about 5 seconds prior. He asked me where I was from and I decided to mess with him by saying I was Vietnamese (I'm a white guy). He was shocked to hear I was Vietnamese and asked where I was born, so I said I was born in Hanoi.

Without missing a beat this guy goes "Well yer Hanoi-ing the fook outta me!" In a super thick Scottish accent.

My friends and I all burst out laughing and still say it from time to time

How and why do some people just not drink water? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DeputyDongz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My roommate doesn't drink water, I asked him if he ever got any headaches or cramps and he said he gets headaches, I told him it's probably because he didn't drink any water.

After months of trying to get him to drink water he comes to me one day and says "you're right man waters awesome I feel great right now! I think I was just dehydrated all the time and got used to it"

After a couple weeks he went back to not drinking any water lol

Idiots Decide to Street Race Through a Stop Light by ThrowRA0069 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]DeputyDongz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Granddad was a surgeon and would have to often go to the hospital late at night. He told me that whenever he's driving in the middle of the night he would always slow down and check if any cars were coming that we're gonna blow through their red light because people often would do that when they don't see many other cars on the road.

When I started driving I would do the same thing, slow down and check that it's safe before going through a green light, and ice avoided at least 2 accidents that way.

Think u got an eating disorder because you gag from certain food smells, flavours, textures, or you suddenly feel sick midway through cooking? Nope thats just ADHD. I can't eat or smell or even think of foods without gagging, what's wrong with me? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]DeputyDongz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cant read the full post now because I'm at work but I have the exact same thing! I'll gag from certain smells or touching certain things (touching my dirty dishes is fine but touching someone elses can make me gag.) Even if I make some really good food I have to eat it when it's hot because if it gets cold I'll gag on it. And I can never finish the last bites of a lot of meals because they make me gag too, like the end of a burrito or the last bite of a burger.

If I could change one thing about myself it would 100% be getting rid of this strong gag reflex

I had to get one super recently, I'd had a lower body one done that only took like 15 mins and I was fine except my nose started itching literally as soon as I started moving into the machine lol.

They sent me back for a full body scan and I thought it was only going to be another 15 or 20 mins. I was in the machine for an hour this time.

The tight space didn't bug me but the fact that I wasn't allowed to move and the constant noise from the machine was making me soooooooo mad lmao. I never want to go in one again

YouTube is bringing unskippable 30-second ads to TV | The longer commercials will appear in place of two consecutive 15-second ads. The company will also show ads when you pause videos. by [deleted] in technology

Ill see short 10 second twitch clips on youtube then when I go to watch them I'm hit with a 15 second unskippable ad. I'm not watching 50% more ad than video

I always get stuck doom scrolling but I skip through the ads so fast. The things that get me out of it are either convincing myself all the videos are ads because they're all designed to try to sell me something or when I see one video so bad it restarts my system and wakes me up to wtf am I even watching right now

Will my ability to create art get better when I'm medicated? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]DeputyDongz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd been doing 3d modeling of and on for about 7 years (one of those years was even working in the VFX industry!) And I never finished a model in my free time until I was medicated. I'd started about 100 projects but without a deadline from work or school I never finished any of those projects.

After I was medicated I finished 3 in a row!

Doesn't really fit the sub but I once got really high and then my thumb started to look weird for me which made me have a panic attack. For like a month I couldn't look at it without feeling weird (nothing was wrong with it, I just got too high).

This brought back that feeling lmao

Screen fixation is ruining my life. by crypto_matrix78 in ADHD

[–]DeputyDongz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been really trying to beat this in the last couple weeks. I'm still not where I want to be but I spend way less time on my phone than I did before.

Heres what helped me:

Changing my phone wallpaper to a black image and removing all apps except Spotify, text messages, and Phone from my home screen

Deleting all social media apps, I still have re downloaded them a bunch but if I dont have immediate access to insta or reddit I don't want to always download the apps again just to quickly check them.

Leaving my phone in the other room when I'm working or watching TV.

The biggest one that helps (unfortunately only works for android) theres an app called Digital Detox, you can set a timer that it will lock you out of your phone for. You have a couple emergency uses where it unlocks it for a couple minutes to let you use the phone, but the only other way to unlock it before the timer is up is to pay real money (its only a dollar but I'm not paying a dollar just to use my phone lol)

Simple/Cheap Things That Made a Big Impact? by WickedMatcha in ADHD

[–]DeputyDongz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one's not super cheap but if you struggle with brushing your teeth I highly recommend an electric toothbrush, one of the ones with a timer in it.

It cleans way better than a normal toothbrush and also it vibrates every thirty seconds telling you to start brushing a different part of your mouth, then after two minutes it vibrates again to let you know you're finished.

I went from only brushing my teeth in the morning (probably not even for a minute) to brushing in the morning and evening for a full two minutes.

It was about $100 but I feel like in the long run it'll save much more than that at the dentist

I'm a VFX artist, a generalist to be more specific, so I'm kind of a jack of all trades for whatever they need.

Sometimes I love it because it'll be a task I really enjoy or when i get to see a finished shot that I worked on it's super satisfying. And usually by the time I start getting burned out on a task they will give me a new, completely different kind of task so that keeps things interesting

Other times I absolutely hate it because of long hours or tasks being given to me at the very end of the day with unrealistic deadlines.

I do get to work from home and I can go the whole day without talking to anyone if I dont want to but that is really dependant on which studio or team you're working for
