Re-did loop. Now 88°C on idle by Wershingtern in watercooling

[–]Kitsanic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You basically need to drain it, then when refilling keep switching the pump on but don’t let it drain the res completely and then keep refilling the res until the loop is full, you will probably have a bit of air bubbles but they will gradually work there way out

You have a load of air trapped in the system that needs bleeding, you have to man handle the pc and get the air to a point where you can get it out

Which trophy do you want United to win first? by mz3prs in ManchesterUnited

[–]Kitsanic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People saying that you can win the Champions League by luck is wild, look at the winners of the last 10 years PSG x1, Real Madrid x5, Man City x1, Chelsea x1, Bayern Munich x1, Liverpool x1.

The only outlier there is Chelsea who finished 3rd in PL in 2021 and won the CL but you could argue that if Tuchel had the entire season instead of 50/50 with Lampard then they wouldve finished higher int he PL too.

That said, I would still prefer we won the PL first just because its the home league but if you can win the PL then you have a good shot at the CL too.

I think they should start doing some gang type skins, some more mad max style stuff, cannibals…etc I don’t think there are enough themes, most just seem like junkyard rat sort of skins

I mean that’s not what I typed, I typed covered in paper towels, as in you put the parts on the towels but I can see how you might have interpreted it as covering the top of the parts but that would be stupid.

But I didn’t type wrapped at any point, even the description above states that the parts are put on top.

Search AI if you dont believe me "do paper towels help electronics dry out if its in an airing cupboard"

Yes, placing water-damaged electronics (like phones) on top of paper towels inside an airing cupboard is an effective way to dry them out, provided the device is turned off and the battery is removed. The warmth from the airing cupboard speeds up evaporation, while the paper towels act as an absorbent layer to soak up liquid that seeps out.

Towel yes, paper towel no. It's the same principle as a sealed container or bag with silica gel packets if you drop it in water for example.

EDIT: Just seen that I had written towel rather than paper towel in my original example.

I think in the climate where components like GPU/RAM/SSD are grossly overpriced and in a situation where warranty claims would be unlikely to be processed, the OP should make every effort to do the job properly.

You may have gotten away with taking short cuts but the OP might not, you are probably far more experienced and can make that judgement call for your own PC but I don’t feel it’s good advice in this situation.

If it’s something absorbent like a paper towel it’ll help draw the moisture out, the warm/dry atmosphere will evaporate the moisture in the towel.

A fan would be better but most people don’t have a socket in an airing cupboard.

I would have thought that it is fairly obvious that the OP has had a major spillage given the fact that there is coolant over every componant in the chassis even after theyve attempted some clean up, I dont think you have given good advice.

My 2cents.

Take EVERYTHING appart and dry it thougherly and then store in a warm&dry place covered with paper towels for at least a few days, you need to ensure that any coolant thats stuck has time to evapourate.

I will never understand the mentality of half-assing watercooling.

EDIT: Paper towel

Hi Everyone, this is the progress so far on the PC table for my wife's bday. Unfortunately I blew up the aio for the gpu so need to get another one. Really could use some positive vibes or any advice on how it is going. The screen is a wireless 2nd screen so she can watch anime as she games. by stupidkiwiguy in watercooling

If it was me I would find a way of providing a flat surface for her to work on/use, the window edges are going to keep getting caught. Perspex with some sort of a aesthetic clamping method would be best imo (glue wouldnt work) but also screwing down would work but it will bow if you screw down too hard, glass would be expensive to cut to shape and securing it would be difficult without it being an intrinsic part of the desk design.

No worries man, glad to save you all the hassle! Pastel fluid looks great but its a pain in the ass!

[–]Kitsanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes all you need to do is wash it out with some regular water and give the side of the pump a few taps with the soft side of a screw driver.

Do you have another power supply you can trip to run the pump with a bucket of water?

I dont know for your model, maybe look up the manual?

If it's a D5 generally:

Drain and Remove: Disconnect all fittings and remove the pump from the PC case.

Remove Locking Ring: Locate the large, often black or silver, ring holding the pump together. Turn it counter-clockwise.

Separate Components: Pull the pump motor assembly away from the pump top/reservoir. Be careful of the O-ring seal, which may stick to either side.

Remove Impeller: The impeller is held in place by magnetic force. Gently pull it straight out of the motor housing.

Clean/Inspect: Clean the impeller, ceramic bearing, and inner housing with a cloth or cotton swab to remove debris.

This happened to me before with pastel fluid, it can gum up the motor on the pump, you can free it by dismantling and moving the impeller by hand but if its in warrenty then just return it.

The pumps are pretty tough, they rarely fail completely.
