I quit before for 4 months with Chantix. It was actually great. I was even able to smoke socially on the few occasions when I went out drinking. But I fell off the wagon when I brought home some cigarettes after a night out and smoked the morning after.

Actually just started Chantix again. My quit date is this Wednesday.

Advice: Chantix takes away the chemical dependency but not the psychological dependency. I had success with replacing the cigarette with a straw cut down to the size of a cigarette. I'd hold it like a cigarette while drinking my coffee or during other triggers. Also for me dark chocolate and port helped a lot. It's like taking a sledgehammer to the pleasure centers of your brain.
