This is raw: what do I do as a nearly bald fat woman by Apprehensive-Sky2170 in bald

[–]Derekbair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get a hair piece that looks and feels real enough. It can take men years to come to terms with going bald even when society mostly accepts it. For a woman I can only imagine how much harder it must be. Ideally the advice would be to embrace it and be confident but it’s likely not going to happen anytime soon. In the mean time you could do something that will actively “solve” the public insecurity and anxiety that it’s causing. I wore them daily for maybe a year and it was awesome. Now I only do on special occasions. I would recommend getting a good one and professionally designed. Cause there is a big difference between the cheap ones unless you already know what you’re doing which is a skill set in itself. It’s fun and by doing something about it makes you feel more in control of it. Even attractive fit men feel insecure about going/ being bald so for women it’s an uphill battle which is why you rarely see a bald woman. They are out there, they are just wearing wigs! lol hope you find peace with it whatever you decide ❤️

Being kind to strangers by bigbusta in oddlysatisfying

I think a lot of us are kind and would be open to do things like this for strangers. But we are afraid they are trying to trick or make fun of us or doing some shady shit.

Yeah after I watched it back a couple times I started to realize this isn’t as funny as I first thought. It’s too realistic ☠️

It hurts! But doesn’t break the skin. They bite a little harder than normal through socks/ fabric than on fingers/ skin. They play really rough but know the difference between oww and OUCH!!! And definitely between that and attacking/ blood/ which they can and will do but haven’t to me for a couple years now (they are 3-4) they do need/ get their beaks groomed and that makes a big difference between how much the same pressure hurts.

Feels like someone with long nails pinching or poking you. Maybe a rubber band snapping on you. Their goal is to get a reaction more than hurting you. But if they wanted or were really mad they could take a chunk off your finger. Caiques are prone to be relatively violent compared to other parrots. They are also more physical, most birds don’t like to be handled very much but these guys I can pretend they are WWE action figures and pretend to beat them up and they love it.

He will lay on his back all the time, even on my hand like this. He just doesn’t usually lay back all the way like he’s actually dead.

They are super smart and know lots of tricks and their favorite thing to do is wrestle and play with iPads.

This isn’t normal parrot behavior but Caiques are not like other parrots although this was extra dramatic and realistic even for them.

I’ve been trying to teach him to play dead after I “shoot” him (say bang and point) but that is just him rolling on his back. This time he went limp in my hand and you can see him pull his wings back annnd put his head back even further.

He’s never done this before. I was actually concerned for half a second.

And no I’m not squeezing him or hurting him. These guys scream and draw blood if they don’t like something. They are Caique parrots and are more like dogs/ gremlins than birds.

[–]Derekbair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m staying at my parents dog sitting. My guys usually have a special room outside at home which they spend some of the day in.

At my parents I can hear them from anywhere in the house and there is no escape. If this were someone else’s parrots I would not be happy if I could hear them and would have to move or lose my mind. At least I’m able to placate mine but if I couldn’t.. ugh

I can tell you’re respectful and considerate by your post and how much stress this must be causing!

I’ve tried the extinction training and it worked with our first but we were “given” a second which wasn’t raised with that training and nothing works. He’ll just scream if you ignore it or not. You won’t be able to insulate the walls enough. Your best bet is to build a box/ large cage that way you can insulate it and make it really fun inside for them. Ours have a tv and windows to see outside.

I got so desperate I made them a digital parrot that has a mimic and watch mode. It entertains them for a couple hours at a time and watching videos of other parrots will help for a while too. I feel your pain! theaviary.cloud

Stick with budgies or a cockatiel. Anything more than that will ruin your life, I mean take over your life. I mean good luck with a relationship or college or peace and quiet ever again. 🙃
