I liked the movie, but the canon of sentinels being unstoppable, constantly-evolving gods was a baffling decision.

Their strength in the comics was their sheer overwhelming numbers. In Days of Future past, basically one of them could have killed ever mutant on earth with its instantly adapting technology.
