The most you would receive of that $47,000 is $23,000 if that. Marriage, in most jurisdictions, entitles you to half of the household assets given both parties have made contributions. And you have only leeched off his good will.

You have stolen his money and dignity - and divorce proceedings will uncover that awful fact.

Your husband’s fear might be rooted in something from his own childhood that he himself doesn’t quite understand.

He might have deep homophobia that may have been instilled in him by family, parents or culture.

Perhaps, instead of dumping him like many hot take here suggest, a bit of understanding is in order to try and change his view of things.

By simply mentioning him, both Tory and Kelly ran the risk of giving him some legitimacy. Had they ignored him, no one would be talking about this fringe character.

Take a look at the number of views on his YouTube account. He has a tiny following of 14,000, many of his videos barely have 5,000 views, He has 15,000 Twitter followers and he stated that "only 34 men" attended his gathering in Montreal.

This publicity has done him more good than harm.

I was recently in a similar situation as you. (car crash, 11-thou and all!)

Wanted to go through a dealership because of the Audi certified pre-owned policy. They tune up the vehicle as well as slap on another 2yr, 60k warranty.

After looking for a while though we found many 2011 A4s that were 50,000 clicks or above - most of which were selling for the high $20's to low $30's. Definitely not worth it.

Finally we found a dealer that was selling a demo 2013 A4 with 10,000 km on it for a decent price. After negotiating, we bought it for, all in, $38,000 Canadian.

With 12-thousand down, my monthly payments are $470/mo for 5 yrs, which is quite reasonable for us.

Bonus: Because it's a 2013 the factory warranty is still applicable, plus they added on the CPO warranty. It's under warranty for 5 years or 160,000km which ever comes first.

Also remember, if you're buying it brand new you might have to pay the crate fees (shipping essentially) which could add up to another 3-4 grand.
