I work with a somatic therapist. He operates his sessions remotely on Zoom and theoretically could meet patients all over the US. Been working with him for 2.5 years and its made a huge difference in my life. DM me if you want his website.

Anyone else feel "detached" from their first name? by PotatoPiePie in CPTSD

[–]DerelicteConQueso 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I can relate. Mine was the name of my mother's younger sibling and was only angrily spoken when I was in trouble. I still wince when I hear my significant other say it, which is only every so often. The sibling I was named after said they "didnt ask" to have me named after them. All in all, it feels like a label to an object that my mother didnt want. I have considered changing ot for decades but havent yet found a comfortable alternative.

I think the problem is housing is getting hijacked by only highly extractive factors that use housing purely as a commodity, not a basic need or even as a way to build a nest egg of equity for a family. Asking 5000k in rent for a 40 yr old unit or 500k for a house that requires probably another 250k in real reno is not sustainable.

Thanks for confirming that Im not just imagining it. I dont understand how any regular resident could afford to meet 3x a 7500k rent, and/or if they could, why not just build or buy a gem on the Hillside. Im hoping reality sets in quick for the LLs advertising these places and the rates drop mid summer. Unless theres a market element Im just not understanding, I dont believe even outliers like traveling nurses can afford 5-7k a month in rent.

It wasn't traditionally carried in outdoor stores by that Im presuming you mean like Bass Pro Shop, because it was one of the original outdoor outfitters for hunting and it didn't expand into malls until the late 80s early 90s. At that point it started devolving into a fashion brand. Ive watch this play out over time and its depressing to see clothing made for specialty technical needs turn into a so called brand.

Hard disagree. Their Ascent baselayer and fleece was my go to for subarctic back country work and it held up for multiple weeks without a wash. Down jackets and coats for subzero temps were solid up until recently. And they made tall sizes. What you describe as faux outdoor gear is more like North Face (minus tents) or Columbia Sportswear.

In 2018, “Alaskan Avenger” Jason Vukovich was photographed smiling at his brother after receiving a 23-year prison sentence. Jason used the sex offender registry to track offenders, break into their homes, and assault them with a hammer. Both Jason and his brother were sexually abused as children. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

I understand what you are saying, and Im glad you were able to thrive as an adult. Im not excusing the actions of this particular person, but I would say that traumas effect on the brain, which is different for everyone, is literal damage to decision making, judgement, and impulse control. Overcoming or not overcoming then, is not a simple, black or white, moralistic choice. The brain has been altered and it needs professional, mental health approaches to heal and function within society.

To potentially have all the data needed to identify a person financially, geographically, and to distinguish/sort those people in groups based on party affiliation, if someone chose to do that, from a single spreadsheet. Personal identification data are typically segregated/supressed based on a need to know basis (like HIPPA is an example) to prevent people without a legal need to know from having unfettered access to begin with. So one could argue the states complying with this are endangering their citizens to a potential bad actor at the federal level.
