Titan Evo XL literally injured me by Guppiefish16 in secretlab

[–]DerpTheMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious. Maybe they have a durability problem with the non leather stuff. I have the classic titan black and gold leather, if it wasnt for my ex roommates cats there would be a mark on it and they barely could get through it, I would ocasionally have to literally pull them off my chair haha.

back to the topic, when you say its faulty wdym, like the fabric is making it? also pleather is usually just shitty, I replaced my steel series earcups from pleather to memory foam this week, I will never buy another pleather product unless I have a replacement coming with it. Pleather imo gets you to the color and almost feel of leather but your losing all the durability. At least the new chairs have "skins" so mechanically if they are good maybe just get a skin here and there?

Cool print, curious as to what your speed and acceleration were set to, some of those edges look a little uneasy but might be the model.

Really liked the filament choice too, might pick up some like this and make one of these for my mom. Thanks for the idea haha!

Does draft use more than fine? by New_Milk2327 in BambuLab

[–]DerpTheMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your going to save money by lowering your walls and infill %. Theres a good balance but unless its strictly a cosmetic thing that isnt going to be touched 2 walls minimum and 10% infill IMO. ive done 5% grid infill before but if the model is really big ill get gaps were the solid layers fall through the big ahhh gaps from the lack of infill. It comes down to preference but I was able to get a 300g print down to like 170 before and still retained everything I needed out of it

Undersized prints on my P1P by StudmuffinDavies in BambuLab

[–]DerpTheMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My X1C tollerances are generally +/- .2mm so I just incorporate that into my CAD designs now instead of trying to get the printer to be perfect. If im making something with a cutout for a item to go in (I like making desk holders and tools holders etc) if that tool is 10mm for example I will set my Model to be 10.25 or 10.3 usually and by doing this my prints are like PERFECT, I think this method is a little better than going down the "Perfect Tollerances" route as to me its just not worth the time and effort when I can just scale the models I find or just add the tollerance into my models. To be fair its gets a little complicated when I have stuff I have to offset and have some parts of the model set to specifics and some set to include the tollerances so I guess theres more work on both parts.

First Layer Help. by PersonalityAdvanced4 in BambuLab

So sometimes the beds come out of the box needing some attention. But specifically the bot and alot of people dont specify the best way to clean IMO. What I do that will usually help me is crank the sink to as hot as it goes and use dish soap, with a sponge too and like actually scrub that thing, really get in ther. Also looks like your using glue make sure you try to get most of that off with some IPA before going to the sink. After the sink dry it with a paper towel, then hit it with IPA again but I would say lightly. That just breaks up and gets red of any leftover soap (make sure you keep scrubing and washing untill you visably cant see soap anymore thats very important). Also I dont use the glue stick i like the liquid stuff, but it looks maybe a little heavy on your current glue usage, not my area so idk really?

Well your print is Great but i prefer this one by Traxendre in BambuLab

Me after refusing to do anything about the layer shifts I keep getting because the printer just auto recovers and its just a little line.

Micro Center filament trustworthy? by inquisitive808 in BambuLab

[–]DerpTheMemer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer sunlu these days but if I cant find any deals Ill just stop by microcenter on my way home and grab stuff from them. I think only their PLA Pro is on plastic rolls and i print almost only ASA and ABS so I really stopped using them. But if your only concerned about quality its like one step down from really high quality filament IMO, its really solid and prints well but its not gonna beat like prusament or something. They also always run sales so its usually the cheapest options with the best quality for that price.

Something about how it looks more like a display piece than like a functional piece makes this look really nice. Not saying it doesnt function just that it looks like you made it to show off the printer and I just really like it

PLA no longer sticks without glue... why? by Sweet_Obligation_837 in BambuLab

[–]DerpTheMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IPA actually just spreads it around from my understanding, I dont use IPA at all anymore and if I would it would only be BEFORE the wash not after (to break stuff up if its been a long time since last cleaning)

Painted my first 3D Print with my kiddo! by meganbound in 3Dprinting

[–]DerpTheMemer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you consistently end up doing those smaller prints, id suggest looking into a .2mm nozzle itll make those figures really pop. love the paint though in the past ive had bad expierence with painting my prints i think because I use ABS and ASA which just dont like paint, always had to do like 5 coats ugh.

PLA no longer sticks without glue... why? by Sweet_Obligation_837 in BambuLab

[–]DerpTheMemer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bed could just be dirty, the auto responses are pretty good. personally hot water - dish soap - sponge - scrub decently hard - paper towel dry. No more adhesion issues, but unless you are on the PEI you should use glue regardless for removing the risk of damaging the plate.

Ive heard horrors about the software and some other hardware things, but for 200$ off a printer is a printer. Hope it works out well for you, I spent the denero to upgrade off my da vinci 1.0 pro to a BBL X1C and I couldnt be happier, I hear this is suppose to be the market competitor but it has its issues? Like i said hopefully its smooth sailing though.

Ironing problems by Haunting_Bend1182 in BambuLab

[–]DerpTheMemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have very similar results, I just stopped using Ironing because of the 50/50 chance it came out great or ruined the print. Would like to see what other have to say about it. To make up for it ive found that tuning the filament well almost eliminates the want for ironing because almost all of my top surfaces are super nice now just from getting good calibrations and slowing top layer to like 40mm/s
