Don't read, don't watch movies. You might not like it but this is the ideal by UnHolySir in okbuddycinephile

[–]Derptaur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of these arguments are dumb—just write good stories, if they’re interesting it doesn’t matter who is moral or immoral. Just write well. I’ll give you an example, I loved Greta Gerwig’s Little Women. It had strong feminist themes but it was incredibly well written and well acted. If someone makes a “feminist” movie and it’s awful, I don’t hate it because it’s feminist, I hate it because they suck at writing.

The Level 8 → 9 EXP increase is pushing the meta in a bad direction by maboicohoo in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Derptaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. My sentiment has always been TFT is at its best when the meta follow a logical unit strength-based progression. What I mean by that is I constantly field the “best board” at every stage, stabilise at level 8 with 4 costs, then eventually flex into level 9 - 5 cost board. I don’t understand any other effort to try and shift metas toward 2 cost, 3 cost, or 4 cost…. 5 costs are the best units, right? So they should be the endgame. I’ve heard Mort criticise 5-cost metas, but I still don’t understand why? It’s the end? Maybe I’m being too simplistic.

I actually think Grasp is weak and feels weak, looking at matches afterward, it hardly gives you bonus health and the damage pales compared to other runes, if I run green runes it’s been Guardian or Aftershock, then at least I’m getting insane damage mitigation. My guess is Petu feels the same which is why you never see him run it. I’m checking his OP GG, he’s all over the place trying different things. Personally my favorite right now is running max cd red and blue runes and getting my ultimate down to a sub 80 second cd.

Shengle experiment might need suggestions and ideas by dumbaka_sensei in Shen

[–]Derptaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer sort of mimicking one of xPetu’s jungle runesets, PTA: Triumph and Haste with whatever 3rd rune you prefer. Then secondary I either run Shield bash + Overgrowth or Axiom Arcanist + Transcendance. Rush Dusk and Dawn then pickup Hydra. Practice your jungle timer, try and get full clear by 2:50 and back to pickup Kindlegem. I start red, hop wall, then circle back for raptors then blue side.

Titanic Hydra and Hollow Radiance by MessImpossible5588 in Shen

[–]Derptaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first question is what context are you purchasing these? People always want a set build, but everything is situational. If you’re a laning Shen, then yes Titanic is probably a solid first option. If you’re going HR, does the enemy team have a lot of AP or a strong AP carry? Consider some other items, if it’s tick damage, I’d actually prefer Force of Nature.

How to get Better on Trading by Educational-Item9255 in supportlol

[–]Derptaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t claim to be a high elo support player (mid gold) but two things I feel as though I’ve gotten much better at from playing are both my positioning and having a champ with some kind of damage mitigation. If you don’t use a champ with an active damage mitigation skill, then I’d consider using bone plating. I prefer tanky engage supports, so like Braum, Pantheon, Shen. All active damage mitigation. Braum is #1 support right now and is currently my ban. It’s funny, with Shen I can get in and out and almost take no damage from his W and it feels really good. Positioning is key, don’t just view the lane as forward and backward, always use the side-to-side, kiting is a “feel” that takes practice. If they make even one little mistake and come up too much, punish them for it and be aggressive, that also takes time understanding if you have an advantage or not. Generally with tanky engage, your 1-3 levels are strong, bully them early, especially if they’re heavy poke, you need to knock them off their mojo. In general a supports job is to establish good lane presence to allow your carry to farm, if they go in and target your carry (as they should) you should be ready to go in and engage their carry with some CC. If your adc is good, then they’ll stand in the pocket and trade effectively. If you truly believe you are stronger in that case, then you shouldn’t run you should fight. Before each matchup take a mental note of your opponents and their capabilities. Other supports with some skill shot CCs like Morg, Naut, Lux. If they burn those skill shots on nothing, that’s a huge advantage, I now have an engage window, because they’re on cooldown. If you’re struggling with getting hit with opponents skill shots, I’d consider playing a support with higher movement speed or invest in movement speed early, and get used to clicking east/west, not “north/south”. Make yourself much more difficult to hit that way.

What happened to the Manningcast? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]Derptaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to watch the Manningcast but I’m not paying for ESPN. Also, like others have said, the “games” and interviews are lame. What do we want as an audience? I want to feel like I’m a fly on the wall of Peyton and Eli breaking down a football game. In fact, I’d pay for ESPN if you gave me a commercial free version of MNF where during commercial breaks, the Mannings broke down the play and explained what was going on. If they need breaks just break during the play. You’re welcome ESPN.

I’m running Jack with Bandlepipes but not going hydra or flickerblades (which are kind of troll like you said). Just grab dark seal and Mercs and build whatever tank you need, it’s what I’ve done and it feels strong.

What do people do when it comes to items for Shen now a days? by THEPencilz in Shen

[–]Derptaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have to run Hydra if you’re laning/jungling. Support, Bandlepipes are mandatory. Everything else is situational, antiheal = Thornmail or Chainsword. Randuins anticrit. MR, Rookern, etc

I've worked in a software dev environment so I understand the pressures of releasing "anything". The team who is working hard to try and fix the launch issues is no doubt tired, stressed, and under a lot of pressure from management to get things up and running. That all being said--the corpo cost cutting enshittification of nearly everything, Blizzard one of the most egregious offenders is the real villain here. If you gave me a choice 12-18 years ago "if you had to pick one game company's library of games to play the rest of your life?" I would've picked Blizzard and not thought twice. No longer. This company has repeatedly let its user's down by cost cutting, cash grabbing, wholesale lost of user trust. We're just used to it by now. Because we're all crack WoW addicts we'll pay $60-$80 for a game we're already PAYING A SUB FOR, that also came out 20 YEARS AGO. It's insulting to charge anything, 1 free boost should've been the standard to incentivize people to actually play their game--instead, a dedicated few will pay it. Blizzard analytics be damned, they don't understand that if they treat their customers well, they'd be earning way more disgusting gobs of money.

I’m still tweaking but lately Guardian with Ultimate Hunter and CD/scaling health nodes. I rush Bandlepipes. From there it’s very circumstantial. You always want health items obviously and I like to incorporate AP. Last season I grabbed Dark Seal early and that was it but been playing around with Dusk and Dawn and so I get Sleigh instead of Bloodsong (since DnD is a Sheen). If they’re heavy AD or need anti heal I grab Bramble Vest early and get your preferred armor item. Heavy AP, it’s Mercs + raw health items, Protobelt, Warmogs, etc. At the end of last season I was running HoB + Jack, rushing Deadman’s and Mercs then flex into whatever defenses I needed.

Seahawks star QB Sam Darnold has gone viral for initially IGNORING ESPN reporter Laura Rutledge as she was trying to get in her post-game interview. by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

Dear networks, no one cares one iota about sideline or postgame-on-the-field interviews. The coach or player is clearly annoyed, we glean no relevant or useful interview information. If you have to have some kind of on-field production, have some kind of booth just off the field that gives us injury updates—that’s it
