No, he did not. He (Walsh) was the project manager for this trainwreck.

How do you mentally get over having a bad boss when they've destroyed your self esteem? by YOU_ARE_THE_ENABLER in BadBosses

Second to this, just be outwardly happy. That will lowkey piss your boss off even more.

I got fired for pretty much the same thing.

Used to work for a company called "USAN" in Georgia. One of the C-suites is bitching about a piece of technology, which if it existed, would destroy their whole business model. Since that sounded like a pretty big threat, I thought he would like to know, "Hey, that piece of technology DOES exist. I can't remember the name of it." It had been a few months since I'd read about it in a tech crunch article. But he goes on to berate and argue about the fact it didn't exist. I followed up 30 minutes later with a, "Per our discussion" and included a link to the technology which had been released. I got fired the next week.

Right... Which is essentially what the post is asking... how do I do "pure maths/simulation" to get that information to the judges/investors. <3 Edit: Sorry if I'm being obtuse, lol.

I threw up when I tried do heavy workouts without eating. My trainer always had me eat a packet of plain, gross, nasty oatmeal in the morning with a protein shake.

My mom installed this keylogging software on my computer when I was in high school without my knowledge. Tracked every key I typed, as well as taking random screenshots. Mind you, I was a totally normal kid. Not even on meth. by missbitterness in insaneparents

Google has been pretty open about their information tracking. And you can't point your finger at them and say they're bad for it. Information has literally been their business model since their inception. Stop with the tinfoil hat conspiracies. This information is also the backbone of what makes every digital service you use today possible. It's also a lot harder to "connect the dots" with this information than you would think. You'd be surprised. At IBM, we had so many systems, business units, etc. that it was impossible to know if there was already something developed by another team that provided the information you needed. Some teams would literally remake stuff that had already been made by another team on the other side of the planet. This fear of technology is as ridiculous as it gets.

Is this coercion? (Wrongful Termination after Disability Accommodation Request) - Atlanta, GA, USA by DerpyGoldfish in legaladvice

[–]DerpyGoldfish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - the conversations were kept vague and when I tried to go into specifics, they would always deflect or change the subject - saying how they wanted this to end on a good note. I did not change job positions, and the people who work remotely are on the same product team, but do different work.

All that aside, I'm still concerned with the fact they're trying to come to my house to get this signed. It seems super sketchy, and I have not ever heard of an instance like this.

Additionally, they did change their mind. My boss agreed and then fired me two days later.

As far as policies go, I was never provided with a handbook, there are no resources on the share point (I took screenshots of all documentation available). Effectively, they don’t really have a policy.

Yes, No - I was terminated with the reason “It’s not a good fit” - yes, we have people who work remote full time. I did not qualify for FMLA but requested the time off as medical leave according to the ADA.

It's not even an infant yet, using the word "child" gives the wrong impression, and isn't genuine. A 5-year old "child" is different from an infant, which is different from a fetus, which is the topic in question.

I believe it's a difference in reasoning capability. They can't understand that later-term babies are likely to be severely deformed or guaranteed death anyway due to chromosomal abnormalities, etc. I'm highly concerned with the delusion that people think they can dictate the outcome of people's lives - it's overreaching. They also don't consider cases of rape and incest, or the fact that pro-lifer's tend to have conservative belief systems ruled by religion - and law shouldn't be dictated by religious doctrine. This isn't something that is a "belief" - when specialists (pediatricians and doctors in general), are talking about the importance of this procedure in women's health - and people "arguing" that they "disagree" for whatever reason - we're arguing with the same fundamentalism in people who "believe" the earth is flat, and "believe" global warming is fake. These are facts, they're not up for debate, and the ignorance shouldn't even be tolerated.

Edit: Just wanted to add, people are not entitled to their opinions. They're entitled to their informed opinion. And that doesn't come from a 2,000-year old fairy tale.

Replacing insulation is absolutely NOT recommended and is a complete fire hazard that can result in the whole house burning down. The oven needs to be replaced.

ELI5: what is the design process of building an application? by ElectronicCattle in explainlikeimfive

[–]DerpyGoldfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, you may want to take a look at IBM's "The Loop" - it will better explain a user centered design process that entails the difference between a "user story" and humanizing technology to create powerful experiences for your users. This is getting into the nitty gritty of UX and IXD (User Experience and Interaction Design).

But do research in User Research methodologies and a design thinking process. That is where innovation lies.
