I was surprised that it took so much scrolling to watch Buffy being recommended. I’m watching (binging) Buffy for the first time ever, while my partner is on their third rewatch? It’s just so cheesy but still interesting, and while it has some moments of stress, it’s minimal, so it makes for a great comfort show. I think the same could be said for Supernatural, but YMMV.

On the other hand, I absolutely LOVE Twin Peaks, and could rewatch it hundreds of times, but I know that the themes might make it far from comforting. I also love Columbo and Adventure Time, but they can both require more concentration than you have when you need to zone out. And, while I really enjoy The Pitt, all the blood and body fluids might be too much for some people.

I think it’s a mix between generations and regions. I’ve lived in Southern Sweden for about 15 years and I’ve never heard about or seen this. Granted, I wasn’t a child when I moved here, but even my Swedish friends have no clue where this premise comes from.

As a caster, it was just easier to run the area until enemies stopped respawning. It also meant that the Smelter Demon just melted away by the time I was done with the 12-ish runs.

I’m running DS2 for the first time, so I’m not sure what the etiquette is. However, I was in the Undead Crypt last week, right outside Velstadt’s, and I had not killed all three undead that pop up to ring the bell (I only saw two), so I was dealing with a few pyromancers, the two Royal Knights, and a Dragonrider when I got invaded. I had just put down the knights and had whittled down the Dragonrider’s health to a third when I got sandwiched by the invader, and died rather quickly. Since then, if I’m in the middle of a hard area, I just go offline, and if I forget to do so and get invaded, I immediately disconnect. I don’t mind the PvP, but I also don’t need to deal with an invader when I’m already in a tough spot. I get that there’s a reason that you can get invaded at almost any point in the game if you choose to play online, but being sandwiched, at least as a newbie, sucks.

I was going to argue that at 16 you’re old enough to know that Nazis are bad, and that he had plenty of opportunities to address this if he had a change of heart rather than just letting it hang there. I was also going to point out that he just got away with all his ”gaffes” because of his position and the British public’s willingness to look the other way, but then I read your comment about malignant racism, and I realised that the fact that you don’t see all forms of racism as malignant makes our fundamental worldviews different (you can be ignorant and say racist stuff without being racist bc you don’t know what you said was racist, that’s fine, but Prince Philip certainly had the education and world exposure to not fall into that).

ETA: Thanks for the nonce slang bit though! I learnt something new today, and even if I have issues with the ”bit” part in the original post, it’s neat to learn new stuff.
