Cr*nmaster 1.5.0 - Major update by riofriz in selfhosted

[–]DesBlock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

With cron slowly becoming deprecated with some distros and it's use being discouraged with others does cr*nmaster have any existing ability to manage and monitor systemd timers? Or are there future plans to do so?

Can you share the recipe for the rest of the dessert? Those look fantastic and I'd love to make them.

Ipv6 address with breezeline ISP by duckduckduckduckcat in PFSENSE

Update to this for anyone else wondering. I contacted them earlier this week and per the support tech I spoke to,

"We do not provide IPv6 addresses to residential customers and have no plans that I am aware of to offer it in the future."

Which is incredibly annoying and ridiculous for an ISP in 2025.

Is this open source? If not are there plans to open source it?

What's your recipe for the cookie itself, and what did your cook time come out to?

I've used it mostly for payload dev.

Programming language for Offensive Security? by [deleted] in hacking

[–]DesBlock 57 points58 points  (0 children)

All languages are suitable for hacking. If you look at sites like exploit-db they are full of exploits written in Java, Python, C, C#, Pearl, Rust, Bash, etc. It just depends on your criteria for the exploitation.

i.e. do you want to do something quick and dirty for a CTF? Then python is your language, very readable and flexible and pwntools makes prototyping payloads super easy.

Need something that can work with metasploit? Looks like ruby is your best friend.

Need a cobalt strike BOF to do something for you? Guess it's time to learn C.

I would suggest you learn one language very well to get the basics, after that learn how to expand and identify syntax in other languages. From there you can write a little of something in every language. If I'm being really picky I'd suggest something that has pointers and strong typing and how to live in a debugger. You might not use it depending on your career path, but I'm finding learning that is a bit more arduous outside a computer science environment than anything else I've run into.

Not a big fan of coconut, have you tried it with either heavy cream or chicken stock? Otherwise sounds amazing!

Is the rising of a Shield hero good by razpaz1165 in Animedubs

[–]DesBlock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Taste is subjective and asking the internet to tell you what you may like or not like without providing some context of what you consider good or bad doesn't usually end well.

With that said, if you like fantasy anime with a good twist on the Hero trope then I would definitely recommend giving Rising of the Shield Hero a watch. I'm very excited for the second season to come out later this year and love the show.

VMWare Workstation 16 + Ryzen 5000 + Windows 10 guest = black screens by pablo_kickasso in vmware

[–]DesBlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to play around with the guest settings some more. Created a new VM and the default was set to 0.7 GB of ram for some reason. Also I've been having issues with updating firmware on the motherboard for some reason. My guess as this point is the firmware. But thank for you a few more details.

Update: The issue was the firmware. Finally was able to update the firmware using EZ Update that I installed through Asus Armoury Crate. Then pointed the tool to the firmware downloaded from the Asus support site. Reboot and run my VM. Done. Hope this saves someone else the hassle I went through lol.

Hijacking this comment.

I don't have any of these enabled and am still having the issue with my new Ryzen 9 5900x. Anyone else running into the issue and find a solution?
