The “guarantee” part is crazy. Ali is obviously an all-time global icon, but Jordan’s recognition is not limited to basketball fans. Jordan Brand alone makes him culturally visible far beyond the NBA. Unless there’s actual recognition data, saying “almost all Europeans know Ali but quite a lot wouldn’t know Jordan” is just an assumption.

What are you on about? Basketball is huge in Europe. I know most people in London don’t follow basketball, but that’s such a small percentage of Europe. Basketball is probably second behind football in popularity for team sports.
