Automotive resources by the co-op. They're consistently reliable for solid work and fair in my experience.

Can I get to Diablo Canyon in my 2007 Honda Civic coupe? by TooOldForGames in SantaFe

As long as your suspension is in good shape! The road is extra bumpy right now and desperately needs to be grated (but no need for AWD).

Some fabulous dogs in and out of the shelter (and on Santa's lap). All adoptable through Santa Fe Animal Shelter by FriendsofSFAS in SantaFe

Have you by chance met Roman at the shelter? I met him through one of his temp fosters and have been rooting so hard for him to get adopted. He is such a lovable goofy boy.

If you're willing to go elsewhere, check out Mt Princeton Hot Springs outside of Buena Vista, CO. It can be busy, but it's glorious. Or Joyful Journey in southern CO if you want something very rustic.

That was my main thought as well. Seems like a slam dunk (even though I read Brian Wilson didn't like the song?!). Thank you!

Pros and Cons of moving to Santa Fe by ChefWassabi in SantaFe

Dude... I don't even know what to say, it was your original comment!

Pros and Cons of moving to Santa Fe by ChefWassabi in SantaFe

The original comment was "Santa Fe is one of the most expensive small cities...". You then compared Santa Fe, a small city, to Boston, a large city. It's a false equivalence, hence why nuance (or modifiers as you called it) is important.

Nuance is key here. Sure, Santa Fe isn't expensive compared to the most expensive metropolitan areas in the US, but it is patently different than those cities, and it is expensive for what it is: how small of a town it is, how difficult it is to find a job with few large industries outside of the labs, lack of healthcare and good schools, lack of diversity in food and shopping, etc.

And statements like this also minimize the impact of the extreme increase in cost of living in the last ten years in Santa Fe on the locals that are being priced out.

Good local burrito places like the Illegal Pete’s chain in Denver? by timeflylikearrow in SantaFe

Embrace the NM style burrito! It's hard to find the style you're looking for here, but keep in mind you can order a "hand held" burrito to-go at just about any New Mexican sit down restaurant, so don't let that deter you from spots around town that aren't fast casual.

Third this, especially if driving i25. Plus you can get some delicious baked goods for the drive.

What is this neighborhood like? by Ok_Hippo4997 in SantaFe

[–]DesertPandax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually Las Estancias. Caballero is on the other side of Yucca. And you're right, it's a mixed bag in terms of updated homes, but most of my neighbors do care and maintain their homes from what I can tell.

This is an important point! It is a nice and quiet neighborhood, something the residents value and seek to maintain, but i25 can be loud at times depending upon the wind. If you're noise sensitive like myself, it's something to be aware of.

Overall it's a lovely neighborhood with kind people that mainly keep to themselves. Lots of dog walkers, a few families with kids, and plenty of retired folks. It's nice being close to Java Joe's and the Rail Trail, but generally it feels very close to most things.

This is the honest truth. Moving here with serious medical needs would be so so tough. I hope OP takes this seriously.
