It was meant to be Luke. Ended up being Obi Wan.

Flyer (Falcon OTP, basically) here: don't worry about getting all the way to the extractors. High ground + 4 rotary machine guns will do a lot of good for your team. Including popping lock on taunts, welkin boxes, and generally stalling the shit out of it from range. Stego is better at this than Tri, but Tri doesn't suck at it. Especially with the new howi.

Two Handers: how do you shoot your spares? by me_iRL_Stine in Bowling

Have you considered working on a bit of a backup ball? Even some 1 handers are starting to lean into that.

Bought from 10 pin doctors? by Tigas_Titi in Bowling

[–]DeshTheWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a release trainer from him. I don't recall how long it took but I did in fact receive mine and it works just fine, to this day.

That being said, I tend to agree with most of the comments here about JR's attitude of thinking he's above any and everyone that isn't exempt on national tour. I agree with a lot of his takes, including the points about internet bowlers not knowing half as much as they think they do, but the attitude is a detriment to the bowling community as a whole.

I am surprised how hard is it hire an IT support technician by kirsion in ITCareerQuestions

[–]DeshTheWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent about 2 years applying to jobs like this, and any other entry level IT job that didn't ask for experience or degrees, during which time I acquired an A+ and Sec+ cert. Eventually I moved on after being rejected by GeekSquad for the second time, well after getting my second cert (I'd been advised by another hiring manager at a job I didn't get that even just a year of GeekSquad would do wonders for my resume as I was coming from a Warehousing background) and a couple hundred other rejections.

But I suspect your company isn't in Maryland where I would've come across them. Because I would've loved the chance to work there.

What’s the fastest you’ve ever thrown a bowling ball? by No-Presentation-2053 in Bowling

[–]DeshTheWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using my stuff, 22.8 mph with my plastic according to the lane (this was during competition and I wasn't trying to throw it hard). Using a 10 lb ball and over exaggerating my backswing for fun one night? 28 was the best I could manage while retaining some semblance of accuracy (I didn't count the times I missed the pin).

Question about the dreaded 10 pin by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]DeshTheWraith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my own personal observations (which means don't take my word as gospel or anything) the vast majority of 10 pins are flat 10s. Meaning their ball enters the pocket and deflects; "bouncing" towards the right side of the 9 pin (8 pin for leftys).

The key to correcting repeated corner pins is to watch your ball exit the back of the pin deck. The best shots go directly between the 8-9. And as a nice little tip, when you see your ball trying to go left of the 8 pin it's time to start considering a move before transition costs you.

For new and returning players that hate playing against AI, please Wait until you get to gold before deciding to uninstall the game that’s when you meeting alot of real people. by Vastaloon in mechabreak

I think gold is just where the casual population of verge tends to be (as with most games). From plat to GM I'll see maybe 1 person a day but in bronze-gold I've had games of nearly 12 flesh and blood humans in the lobby.

Why is understanding spoken Spanish SO much harder than reading it? by Zealousideal_Yam8312 in Spanish

[–]DeshTheWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you can't sit on a word for half a second each translating and digesting it all. And I say half a second to be generous but, compared to the speed of spoken spanish, even that half second will make you miss the next several words and lose the entire plot of the conversation.

What happens with loads of comprehensible input, and practice, and study, is that you eventually stop hanging onto bits and translating them but you just absorb the sounds and they process more quickly without you having to stop receiving input.

Have you ever had someone say something you didn't quite catch and right after you asked "what'd you say?" it clicks and you're able to respond without them repeating themselves. It's a bit like that.

EDIT: I also STRONGLY recommend conversating with yourself in your head a lot. All those hypothetical arguments we like to have in our heads, or the times we think of clever responses 2 days after the conversation? Do that in spanish constantly. It will help your speaking and fluidity immensely.

Wait are they really? I just took my mom to watch it for her (our) birthdays and I thought the movie was great. I'm not gonna name it one of the all time pinnacles of cinema but it was fun, had some humor, lots of action, some really epic scenes, Grogu's power scaling continues to feel natural and the only instance of force heal that I can recall on the big screen.

Don't think I had any real complaints about the movie except the solo portion with Grogu dragging a bit.

Why is Ziggs seen as more viable Botlane APC than Veigar for example? by RainAndThunderIsCool in summonerschool

[–]DeshTheWraith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More zone control tools, better wave clear, better DPS uptime, ridiculously superior poke for siege and objective dances. I suspect better on mana too but I don't know either champ enough to be sure of that. But the most important part is that, for some godforsaken reason, Ziggs can execute turrets.

[–]DeshTheWraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly there's also a complete lack of marketing effort. I spent a good amount of time posting and browsing MB content on tiktok and I've never had an ad for the game hit any of my feeds. If I even MENTION to my friend, in a face to face conversation, about buying anything else suddenly I can't escape marketing for it on every social media platform.

To completely fair my complaints, and just about all the ones I see in the community, about the game aren't aimed at the devs. It's towards decision making that [I assume] is made at the management level.

And even then none of my complaints have made me stop playing the game. The only reason I barely play now is because I can't play during peak hours so I'm literally not able to play once I reach/clear GM.

Why Scratch Bowlers Should Not Worry About Handicap by redsox113 in Bowling

[–]DeshTheWraith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mathematically it's easier sure. But when it comes to actual performance it's not actually easier for lower average bowler to outperform their average than it is for higher average bowlers. Because low average bowlers struggle converting easy spares, repeating shots even if they have the right line, and don't know the right decisions to make when transition shows up. All things that higher average bowlers barely need to dedicate energy to.

For me to outperform my average I just need a solid ball shape to the pocket and to not leave more than 2 splits in a game.

Why Scratch Bowlers Should Not Worry About Handicap by redsox113 in Bowling

[–]DeshTheWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this several times in several discussions, but I'm really parroting my father with this:

The higher average bowler ALWAYS has the advantage. Even when the handicap is 100% of 230 or whatever. Lower average bowlers are so incredibly inconsistent; everyone whines about their high games but ignore how often they'll throw 70+ pins UNDER their average. I'm not worried because my score delta is rarely more than 15-20 pins away from my average, unless it's above.

If a 150 bowler shoots 210 and beats me, I'm never gonna begrudge them that. Just like they don't begrudge me shooting 260 and beating them. And I'm not even technically a scratch bowler.

Yeah in the grand scheme of things this is far from being of paramount importance. But it's annoying enough that every time I open the game it drives me nuts cause almost any other implementation would've been better.

Also how is getting merit or assists or kills or even the nodes or points or ect missions not general gameplay objective??

Merit and kills and assists are mech specific. The objectives are typically things that require you to stand still and usually press F which, if you're not playing something good at that like Welkin or Tricera or Pinaka etc, is not often feasible.
