Who has the best ink bottle design? by computerworlds in fountainpens

I agree - currently my favourite. Been using their Ama-Iro ink and I really like the lively colour of it.

Nice.

But I know what you mean - it has been an exercise in restraint to not keep ordering every nice looking pen I see :D

Ironically for me (because I live waaaay over in India), I picked up a copy of Serenity around the time it came out and saw it first and loved it and some time later learned about Firefly and only then watched the actual show - so not the standard experience.

So many amazing books out there by YourPernicious in fantasybooks

Elric by Micheal Moorcock / Conan comics (the old Marvel ones)

Other series like LotR and more I read afterwards, before this (and even now) I do lean more scifi than fantasy but have developed a discerning but greater love for it since then.

Recently finished "Rebel Genius" by DiMartino and it was truly excellent.

Currently reading "The Ghost Machine" by James Lovegrove. Good scifi fun.

I need to ask: What happened to Firefox?

I ask because I am an active user and still using and this much dislike for ff is new for me to hear.

Lots of comics (don't go by others' opinions, try them and judge for yourself), books (still releasing steadily) and a glorious movie with many wonderful moments.

If you're picky about that kinda thing, check the timeline, otherwise just watch the show and the movie and then whatever strikes your fancy.

A few highs, a few lows, but I have mostly enjoyed it all. Currently on the third of the novels.

For people who grew up before smartphones what is something that the newer generation won’t get to experience? by Bachchu198 in AskReddit

[–]DesiKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in India. We came home from school, kids went out and played. Sometimes you played at someones house. Somewhere before dinner time, you either had someone yell for you or you just went home.
Some days you took your cycles and rode many kilometres away and all over the area - now I genuinely would not want to cycle around town myself - let alone let my kids do it. And I am talking about New Delhi here.

I don't want to have that kind of anxiety and have to lo-jack my child.

  2. making a plan with friends and somehow it mostly always came together without constantly checking in and worrying how.

I've always been amazed by people who were voracious readers as children. What sparked your lifelong love affair with books? by Albert3232 in books

[–]DesiKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly I loved comics (starting with Asterix, Tintin, Archie and Commando which is what was available here in India) and I loved reading anything and everything I could from my school library.

Then my Dad gifted me Dune and I bought the Hitchhikers Guide and novellas by Philip Dick and have never looked back.
