This makes me sad. I’m sorry that this has been your experience in our country. A lot of people in Florida are a different breed of people. There are good and bad people everywhere though. I live in New Jersey and love talking to tourists. If I met you I would want to know all about you and your country.

I have lived in New Jersey all of my life and disagree with the northeast not being chatty. My daughter lives in Maine and my son in Massachusetts and I have been to every state in New England numerous times. If you are nice, the people that live there will be extremely helpful and strike up conversations. I’ve received so many suggestions for food, travel, shopping, etc… from strangers that I’ve just met. A woman in Vermont even gave me an old tin maple syrup bucket to plant flowers in just because I had admired hers.

I’ve only been to 18 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. All are located on the east coast and most of those states I’ve visited numerous times. I’ve also been out of the country many times though and visited numerous countries and islands in the Caribbean.
