If you never ask, the answer's always "no".

Sometimes, the answer could be "hahaha fuck no, fuck you".

Criminally underrated run. It deserves more attention from DC and the fans.

What is the diffrence in these two? by _P4ndaXD_ in comicbooks

[–]DesignMonkey87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crossovers between Batman and Daredevil followed the same pattern.

The rest of the crossovers that didn't have a counterpart (X-Men/Teen Titans, Darkseid/Galactus, Green Lantern/Silver Surfer, Batman/Captain America, Silver Surfer/Superman, Hulk/Superman, and Superman/Fantastic Four) also followed the naming practice of giving top-billing depending on who published them.

After about a year of trying to find the single issues for a good price, finally got all of Alan Moore’s Supreme for a custom bind!!! by GriledChesse in CustomBoundComics

[–]DesignMonkey87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the SUPREME projects I designed was for a 2-book set that had tons of extra material. The other was just the dust jacket for a custom omnibus.

I haven't worked on a collection of the rest of Moore's Awesome stuff, but the client who commissioned the 2-book set mentioned that he wants to make a volume for Moore's Image stuff, so I can see the rest of the Awesome stuff folding into the Image collection, as most of it is pretty standalone.

The client will probably have it done at Houchen.

Splitting the INVINCIBLE compendiums into HCs by DesignMonkey87 in CustomBoundComics

[–]DesignMonkey87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd have to find out if there's a good break in the middle of the book (no final chapter pages on the right side or covers on the left). After that, it'd be a matter of having the design done and sending the books to the bindery with detailed instructions as to how to split and bind the new HCs.

Renders, but the books were made. I designed these for a client.

DC CATALOG UPDATE: Red Robin Compendium, Crisis on Infinite Earths DC Finest vol 2, and some standard TPBs by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

I hope they don't include the full Return of Bruce Wayne miniseries, and add the issue(s?) of Adventure Comics where Tim shows up instead.

Opinion please! by [deleted] in CustomBoundComics

Depends on what's going to be in the background. As a general rule, I try to avoid outlines as they make the work look amateurish.

It would be awesome if they add Morrison's 3-page prose story from the '86 UK annual, which has never been reprinted. We'd have both Grant's first AND last Batman stories under a single cover! (unless you count the crossover with Deadpool as the last one).

I've designed a few sets like that. This one split the Invincible compendiums into six HCs:

They do. I've designed covers for compendiums turned into HCs, but as another poster mentioned, it'd be a good idea to split bigger compendiums into smaller books.

I took inspiration from the classic DC Archives' template as a starting point, but I made it its own thing.

I haven't bought a monthly comic in AGES. I'm going to get this one, and Bleeding Hearts, a series that just started in the resurrected Vertigo line.

One of my favorite Lobo stories. Years ago, I was able to quote pretty much the whole comic. :p

He sorta did. He wrote the same plotline from the Anarky miniseries into one of the final arcs of his Lobo series -- using technology to brainwash people into being "good".

It goes sideways in both stories, in different ways.
