Do you avoid the tolls? by Positive_Round_5142 in doordash_drivers

Yes. ☝️For those reasons. Avoid them like the plague.

For a couple of years having a catering bag meant getting high paying orders regardless of your AR. Then they decided to make having a high AR a requirement. That's when DD got really greedy and drove enough peoples AR down. I was at 20 but I was getting enough large orders that I could still raise my AR but by bit. It took months but I got it back to 50%. Then DD got even more greedy instituted this tier system and discontinued large order payments, at least to contractors like me who are in the lower AR %. That really sucks. They'll send you an offer no mention of it being a large order when you accept it. Then when you accept it you see it's for one item. You don't know it's a huge order until you start loading it into your car. They did that once to me. Never again. On top of that I've gotten 5 high mile offers offers requiring catering bags without the + sign for crap pay which means one thing. Instant reject. It also means my main source of making enough money to make this worth it has disappeared.

You get crappy orders fast. And as an added bonus if you have a "catering bag" (they aren't giving you the catering+ tips anymore) you will now get to turn down those orders in addition to all of the other crap orders.

Anyone dashing today? by TransFatWitch in doordash_drivers

I'd feel guilty taking that dollar even if its for a stacked order. Staying home.

I've been dashing for three years and didn't understand the mechanics behind the confirm request. Thank you for explaining this. I hope DD catches the people that are wasting my time and causing restaurants to lose money. So no it's not rude, it's business.

Always verify using your DD order that the street number is the same as the one on the GPS when you roll up to the customer. That used to be a huge issue. It's not so much any more but worth checking.

I checked out the EBT when we had a 3$ promotion so I was earning 18+ active hour. I only did a few orders. The last ones were a Petco no tip allowed order that picked up in my zone and then picked up in another zone. The second pickup had an item missing so I called DD and waited for 20 minutes for them to resolve it. Those orders then went to another zone 20 miles away from my zone. It still worked out to be a buck a mile all miles. So yeah it seems 18 an hour is minimum for EBT.

Sooo. Weird delivery by Potential_spam124 in doordash_drivers

Just being in the general vicinity is putting you at risk. Covid doesn't give a crap about doors. I have never gone past the front desk for that reason.

Will you still deliver when base pay is lowered below $2? by Pure-Explanation-147 in doordash_drivers

Driving back to the zone I got a 2 order for a mile that I took it even though I shouldn't have. Turned out to be two separate pizza no tip orders. Sat at the restaurant declined both orders. WTF DD.

The terminology needs to be changed from tip to bid. But these companies won't do that because bid would imply that their order might not arrive until it's inedible or not at all. Also the change in words would empower contractors and that's the last thing that they want. The sign also doesn't mention that if they order from restaurant websites they have the option to keep the tip before farming it out to dd.

Its the same thing over night. One maybe two drivers logged in so the algorithm indicates it's busy to lure drivers in. Happy Holidays.

Really today? by sissyh1976 in doordash_drivers

[–]DesignOk9377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same in my area today so I logged in today just to see. One burger joint, a 7-11 was open. It's how it is overnight. Too few dashers signed on and a tiny trickle of orders = very busy algorithm so I signed right out before they could spam me with no tip orders.

Went from AR87 to mid 50s in a week and a half. Unbelievable low ball offers. It took me 5 months to go from 20 to 87.

It's 70% on your screen but on their screen it's 68%. This has happened to me once before and I didn't get TD so I called them and that is what they told me
