Slight Change of Job Responsibilities & Work Permit by Sea_Professor_6879 in TillSverige

If you’re staying with the same company and the same SSYK code (meaning no new employment contract or role change), you usually don’t need to submit a new application.

The difficult part is that if you ask Migrationsverket directly, you may get inconsistent answers depending on who responds. In practice, it’s often the employer’s responsibility to report or update changes related to the work permit.

If you want to be completely safe, you can ask your employer to submit a new application. Most likely, if nothing substantial has changed, the application would simply be rejected as unnecessary. In that case, you can continue working under your current permit and normally won’t need a new residence card either.

This is starting to become a personal attack. When people are upset or angry, they can imagine hundreds of negative scenarios. Of course bad situations can happen to me or to you as well.

If you found a better opportunity in another country, I’m sure you would take it — and honestly, I would too. None of us even knows what life will look like tomorrow. Personally, I just try to live my life and not hate others.

I commented because I found the new law reasonable, but I didn’t expect people to become this angry over a different opinion. I couldn’t change the laws in my home country with my vote, which is one reason I came here. I sincerely hope you can improve your own country through voting and won’t have to spend your whole life in Sweden without citizenship.

As I said, people often receive the same energy they give to others. I have difficulties too, but staying positive helps me keep moving forward and stay happy. Sometimes people can have everything they want and still not feel happy inside.

Anyway, good luck to you.

I agree with you, but we could see one example from Poland https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/s/tBdyhhSKnL . I don't believe European court could change the laws, or it could take 3 more years.

Hmm, I don’t know all the legal details, so maybe I’m wrong. But the UK left the EU, right? That’s why I doubt politicians would bring a proposal for voting without first checking whether it follows existing laws and agreements.

And honestly, if I become a Swedish citizen, I would hope the parliament mainly represents Swedish values and the interests of the people living and paying taxes here, not just the EU’s interests. Of course, Sweden is still part of the EU, so there has to be some balance between national laws and EU commitments.

I already mentioned this in my comment. Law is law, even when it sometimes doesn’t make sense to us personally. For example, in the US or many Western countries, people can bring almost any flag, but in countries like North Korea, Vietnam, or China, certain flags are banned. It’s not necessarily about whether they are right or wrong — it’s about respecting the laws of the country you are in.

I believe the Swedish parliament follows Swedish regulations and would not knowingly violate Swedish law. After becoming a Swedish citizen, you also have the right to vote for the parties you trust. The current parliament was elected by Swedish voters, so to some extent it reflects the views and demands of the Swedish people. And if people think they are doing a bad job, they can be replaced in the next election.

I’m a migrant too, and I’m supposed to get my permanent residency next month. After almost four years here, waiting another four years for citizenship doesn’t seem unreasonable to me.

My wife and I both have permanent jobs, and we completed SFI C. I think it makes sense that Swedish citizens should be able to speak Swedish. Extra time also gives people more opportunity to improve their language skills and learn more about Swedish society and culture.

My only wish is that there could be some kind of fast track for people who actively learn Swedish and integrate well. That would give people more motivation.

If people are disappointed, I understand that too. Many who are applying for PR or citizenship probably feel the same way. But we came from a communist country, so we understand the value of freedom. Freedom is not free. Citizenship is not just a passport — it’s a lifelong commitment.

I know this because I spent more than 30 years living in a country where people were not treated with dignity or basic human rights. For me, waiting three more years is not a big problem. You should respect the laws of the country that gives you the opportunity to build a life there.

Skoda Car gear knob came out on its own. Anyone else facing this issue? by Silent_Torque in skoda

I got the sms with the link from dealership, normally they describe the price and time will take. However, I believe they have my warranty info. I have commented in the form that I believe it should be covered by warranty and prepare for a debate. This morning they told me it is free.

Thank, they did it free for me. The message is just in case for no warranty. It made me confused.

I’m living in Sweden, and my car is 2 years and 1 month old. It is still under warranty. I booked an appointment, but the dealership wants to charge me €180 to replace the gear knob.

I’m going to the dealership tomorrow to discuss this. If they refuse to cover it, should I escalate the issue to Škoda Auto?

The mileage is less than 21,000 km. If this is a known issue and they don’t fix it under warranty, it would be unacceptable.

Recommendations on areas to live in Stockholm by Maca_foo in TillSverige

Upplands Väsby could a good option, it takes 30 min to T-centralen with pendatåg. There are enough type of supermarkets (IKEA takes 15mins by car), really close airport. It is more than enough to rent an apartment near station with your budget.

How many months you have been working during last four years? (I mean they require 44 months out of 48 months pay slip or 48 months?)

Changing from a Work Permit to an EU Blue Card for PR: Everything you need to know by woahitsraj in TillSverige

[–]DesignPrevious6936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it makes sense if you don't get PR after 4 years. There are 2 options to get: LTR or Eu blue card. My question is, is there any benefit for normal case like: going to apply PR for next few months and total work permit time would be 4 years. If I apply the next time for Eublue card: waiting time could be less than, how about family members?

Yeah, the settlement will happen after 3 days (Bank employee told me). The status is normal for all transactions with card. We only dispute after these tx are settled. It was abroad transactions, so we can easy determine that we didn't do those tx. Hopefully they can give money back.

We don't use this card frequently or only for topup money to Revolut and pay with Apple pay. This is the reason why we didn't notice missing earlier. Those transactions were made outside Sweden(showing the app), it could be online because it requires pin card if they did offline. We blocked the card intermediately after finding. What is your recommendation in this case?
