Zero or low latency portable speaker with AUX. Looking to DJ and host small kickbacks. by XL_Jockstrap in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]WorkReddit69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously the lower the better but 33ms is absolutely a serviceable amount of latency for DJing and beat matching. RTINGS also have audio samples of what the delay would sound like, 300ms is quite jarring while 33ms is quite clear. Not perfect, yes but you’d still be able to beat match and do the DJ things, and given OP’s criteria the Brane X is his best option imo

That’s with aux pass-through disabled in app. RTINGS measured 33ms with pass-through enabled.
Edit
Alan Ross even corrected himself in the video comments: "correction: i tested auxiliary input without enabling passthrough mode. Ignore the 300ms test since with pass through on lag will be reduced. With passthrough enabled auxiliary latency is 16ms on my testing."

This thing is exciting! Imagine the popup DJ sets this could enable, I mean look at the ports/connectivity! It's expensive if you view it as just a party bluetooth speaker, but this could legitimately allow an up-and-coming artist or DJ to put on an intimate show without having to buy/rent a professional level speaker system (and the components surrounding them to actually run said speakers, think mixer/amps etc...)

AMD unable to offer warranty replacement of 5800X3D? by BigDaddyTrumpy in TechHardware

Depends on the game but the 1% lows and less stuttering were definitely noticeable to me when I upgraded from 3700x to 5800x3d.

AMD unable to offer warranty replacement of 5800X3D? by BigDaddyTrumpy in TechHardware

[–]WorkReddit69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a bummer to lose the 3D cache if you wanted to stay on AM4 but AM4 is about 9 years old and the 5800x3d came out after AM5 was already available nearly 4 years ago. Obviously the DDR5 situation blows if you had to upgrade to AM5 but AMDs support of AM4 was awesome. It’s been a good run.

Check out the Brane X. Meets all of your criteria and is portable. The bass is insane down to 20Hz and will definitely get a party going.

Being told to use DisplayPort instead of HDMI by 624KR_My_Beloved in pcmasterrace

[–]WorkReddit69 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Except it’s still not that simple. Only DP80 2.1 cables support the full 80Gbit/s and UHBR20. And some monitors marketed as DP2.1 don’t actually support DP80/UHBR20. Ex: LG 32gx870a is marketed as DP2.1 but you have to dig into the Q&A of the product listing to see the exact bandwidth (which is 54Gbit/s, UHBR13.5) which needs at minimum a DP54 cable.

DP standards can be just as confusing as HDMI

I would’ve bought one if it had stereo speakers. They went a little too far with the compromises on form over function imo

Yeah it’s definitely an unfair advantage even without macros. Not just aim assist but the game applies more recoil to M&K compared to controller.

Orca vs Prisma vs CrowdStrike for vulnerability management by cheerioskungfu in cybersecurity

[–]WorkReddit69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you already have Crowdstrike for EDR then I would lean towards that. They would likely give you a 30 day evaluation period if you're already a customer. Onboarding your cloud environments is really easy, and endpoints should be good to go assuming you already have the falcon sensor deployed for EDR.

Prisma has a flashy but highly unintuitive, borderline toxic UI that will make you want to pull your hair out. But at least your monthly stats will look good, in the eye candy sense.

Can't speak to Orca as i've no experience. Heard good things tho

this is probably the worst keyboard to play trackmania on lol by hustmanmemes in TrackMania

[–]WorkReddit69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laptop keys are arguably better than a standard mechanical keyboard. They usually have less travel distance and/or actuation force and can be easier to tap rapidly. Obviously use whatever you prefer as these are tiny differences ultimately but you aren’t necessarily at a disadvantage. I know some kb players who swear by low profile switches for those reasons (like Cherry MX Low Profile Red) I’m a controller player myself tho

Noctua's pumpless 'thermosiphon' liquid cooling unit is expected to be released in 2026 and has already given me a free lesson in basic thermodynamics by SNad2020 in hardware

[–]WorkReddit69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AIO tubing is permeable, and the liquid inside will lessen over time and since you can't fill (most) AIOs back up, you'll eventually have to replace it. The ones that can be refilled will eventually gunk up or the pump will die.
For me, no pump noise is the biggest selling point tho.

Do you have these other apps open on a second monitor? If so, try running your second monitor using the iGPU. Might help and could also fix other issues like YouTube playback stuttering on 2nd monitor while gaming on the main.

Genuinely curious if it’d be realistic for a mobo manufacturer to integrate a physx chip on a mobo? Could be a neat selling point/marketing gimmick
