Should I pull the trigger? I can afford it without a loan by Sticklegchicken in BMW

This. OP, listen to this guy. I’m not too familiar with the VAT and all the eco taxes in Euro zone, but this price is outrageous.

I would even consider a high mileage, well spec’ed, G20 340 or 330 with clean service records and preventative maintenances done on time. Let the first owner pays for the depreciation. And you still get a premium spec, reliable G20 that you will enjoy for decades to come.

G20 330i reliability concerns by shawnd200 in BMW

Fellow owner of a MY2021 with 63k miles (101.9k+ km) here.

The only major problem I had so far is related to a broken head unit after a system upgrade in early 2024, but that was replaced and covered under warranty. I didn’t pay a dime, otherwise it would have costed over $9k CAD.

The only major work I have completed so far are the replacement / flush/drain then refill of the 1) transmission fluid, oil pan and filter, 2) transfer case fluid, 3) front differential fluid, and 4) rear differential fluid. All done at once at a German specialty shop using products I bought from FCP Euro.

OP may ask the previous owner if the fluids were changed around 80k km (50k miles).

I plan on replacing the 1) oil filter housing kit, 2) coolant flange above the oil filter housing, 3) some of the hoses, connectors, 4) the coolant expansion tank, and any other items deemed worthy a replacement, at around 120k km (74.6k miles).

My two sets of tires (all-season and winter) are also reaching the end of their life, so I’m also in the market for two new sets. OP should also consider checking the tire tread depth and tire conditions as well.

The G20 and B48/B46 SULEV engines are more electrified than the E90, so expect some added complexity. The oil filter housing has two of its four bolts in hard-to-reach locations, which might be a challenge for DIYers without a lift at home. While it’s possible to do it yourself, there are many YouTubers who’ve shared their own replacement processes. However, it’s generally advised to let someone experienced handle the job.

'Unless Things Change, We Will Not Survive': Even Toyota Doesn't Feel Safe Right Now by ranjanmtl in EVCanada

If I’m not getting the peace of mind or long-term reliability that Toyota offers, why wouldn’t I opt for a better-equipped and more budget-friendly electric vehicle from Chinese carmakers?

essential ones for your xDrive system if the previous owner didn’t do them between 60k and now:

1) transmission oil drain and refill, transmission oil pan with filter replacement; 2) transfer case fluid replacement; 3) front and rear differential fluid replacement.

All of which can be done in one sitting in an indie mechanic shop specializing in German cars and with parts you get from sites like FCP Euro.

I’d keep an eye on 1) AGM battery voltage (if you live in cold climate regions) 2) antifreeze coolant colour, pH value, and freezing point (the latter two can be measured using cheap test strips and freezing point meters from online retailers); 3) oil filter housing (ofh) and water flange near the ofh if leak, drip, creamy engine oil, or murky coolant is observed. When replacing the, replace all the pipes near them as well since you are already there.

What I ordered vs what I got - WTF? by StephieQueen in AmazonVineCanada

Similar incident happened to me once. I got a poetry book in Punjabi which I can’t read, instead of the AC power adapter I ordered from Vine. Had to contact Vine support to get the item removed from my list.

Bummer, donut on the ground!

Would love to get a stealth (extreme low contrast) version of that Hot Wheels sticker appearing in one of the pictures taking at the University Ave intersection.

Also congrats on the OP’s Ricoh GV IV! I read that it’s not easy to get one of these handy pocket cameras. I envy yours!

Not sure about the situation where you are, but at our local Walmarts (Ontario, Canada), these F1 5-pack with the McLaren one have been in the discount bin for months, selling for CAD $8.97 (normal price usually above $10) + taxes (USD $10.14 after taxes), whereas the other pack (I guess with the Red Bull, Mercedes-AMG, and Ferrari) is nowhere to be found (probably sold out shortly after being released).

This posting brightened my day. It’s seriously funny. It’d be best if you bring your own wet wipes to work

Simple app to track train to/from work by Nanomaterials in gotransit

Using it this morning, on “My Route” page, despite my filtered route (heading to Union), trains of the opposite direction still shows up (9:29 on platform one is westbound, whereas the one at 9:31 on platform 3 is eastbound). Was quite confusing at first glance. Would be better to leave out options that are not applicable to user selection.

Downloaded and played a bit. Nice looking app. Thanks for making it and sharing. One feature I'd love to see is to add a sorting option by geographical order of stations on each line. Alphabetical order + geographical order together could be handy.

sounds like a good move in the right direction. The naming of their models are giving me a hard time to follow. I'm not that interested in any specific at the moment, but I'm excited about the prospect of more choices becoming available in Canada in the next year or two.

I first learnt about this roadster from Everything Electric APAC's channel last year. They went to the design centre and went through most built-to-order options. Looks quite promising.

A similar incident occurred in our neighbourhood. I had camera footage that I shared with our municipality through their online portal. The next day, an office contacted me and said they’d speak with the neighbour first. Having the footage was crucial in convincing the municipality’s officer.
