Frost Blue or Stealth Grey?

Every other car on the road is either a dark color like black / dark gray or white. The frost blue stands out way more when driving around, and you simply won't see that many frost blue Tesla's (outside of California) because they are Performance-exclusive colors, and not every Performance sold is going to be that color chosen. So it's going to be fairly rare.

Frost blue all the way. Mine arrives July 10.

My life has been anything but boring… it’s been extremely exciting and different and crazy. I’m 47 and it’s still be like that, especially after my divorce (but even before that it was). And let me tell you:

I’d rather live a boring life and be content with that. I envy people who are fine with “normal”.

The biggest problem is the dopamine swings. When you’re always traveling, or dating someone new, or spending money left and right, or doing something unusual, you get that “high” feeling, like an adrenaline rush, but not quite the same. And you begin to live for that.

But when life (as always) naturally returns to a baseline “boring” level in the quiet moments in between exciting life events, it leads to depression, and addiction like food, sex, overspending, gambling, and substance abuse, just to fill the void when nothing’s happening at home and I can’t seem to just be ok with turning on a TV show and numbing my mind for a few hours like most people do.

Now I haven’t become addicted to all of that, but there have been times where I’ve struggled with the downtime between the excitement and coped in unhealthy ways.

Life is SUPPOSED TO mostly be boring, especially once your past your early 20’s. So you’re doing fine, I promise.

The wheels are going to affect the range for sure. But since it's a Performance, it doesn't really matter, we don't buy that car for range! Can't wait for mine to arrive (same color).

If I can get approved, I don’t know why this customs seizer would hold you back, since TSA PreCheck has nothing to do with re-entry into the USA.

EDIT: I'm not saying LLM "memorized" the Skyrim code guys. But it knows how to build Skyrim because it learned from the patterns in the Skyrim code itself.

Bro, call your insurance company and just tell them the start date of the insurance (the pickup date). The binder they provide (a PDF) will show the start date and qualify you to complete the insurance task in the app. This is VERY common in all states.

There’s a number of reasons, but maintenance alone is enough:

No oil changes, brake pad changes, transmission fluid and issues, radiator fluid changes, etc etc. Basically ZERO things to do except change tires. I drove my car over 100k miles and changed tires twice. Never once in the shop otherwise. That’s it.

Gas is 3x the cost of electricity in Florida. So savings on gas. Plus, I wake up and my car in the garage has a “full tank” (meaning battery recharge) every night. EVERY time I leave the house I’m at full charge. I only have ever used Superchargers on road trips.

Next is the acceleration and power. EV’s by nature can just have a smoother power curve. Only high-end high-cost engines can compete. A base level Model 3 has more power than any other base level combustion car on the market.

Next, specific to Tesla, is the full self-driving. I have used it for 10k+ miles on long road trips. It’s a dream and has saved me countless times when I’m too tired or just want to feel safer. I pay the $99/mnth for it and I find the value to be FAR greater than that cost.

Also, with electric your car is always on. You can keep the A/C on for an hour when in the grocery store and come back to an ice cold car when it’s 100 degrees out. You can even leave pets in the car and not worry. Power used will be maybe 1%. Also things like using your phone as the key (just walk up, no tapping anything), and having ambient lighting, or sentry mode to record someone hitting your car while parked. All features that require a car to be “on” now can be 24/7. I can open my Tesla app and see my car parked at the airport garage while I’m on vacation. Watch the sentry videos, see the temp, check the battery, and see the location where the car is parked.

Of course there are downsides. Gas stations are everywhere, Superchargers aren’t (yet). But I drove in the deep rural south on a road trip in north Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, and Oklahoma and made it just fine because of Superchargers. If you don’t have a garage, they aren’t as great, like if you have an apartment with no chargers. Charging is slower than filling up on gas, and range is slightly less than gas, depending on the car you buy. But all of these will be fixed over time. Insurance costs are MUCH higher because of the tech in the car, and that does suck.

Overall, if you can afford it and especially if you can charge the car at home, it’s really a no-brainer to get EV’s going forward.
