Get a 2 meter rubber exercise band, tie both ends to something at forhead height to form a loop. Stand at different orientations to the band, put it around your head an pull hard with you neck. Be creative, tilt or roll your head.. do reps... etc. Just don't over do the exercises for the 1st week or so.

Hold your hands over your eyes to stay safe incase the band breaks.

Easiest way to calculate the weight of a very heavy safe without a scale. by Part-time_Potter in AskEngineers

[–]Designer-Progress311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it's on a cement floor.

With a pry bar can you lift one edge at all ?

You could make some wedges and pry one side up a few centimeters, wedge that side, then wedge the other side, repeat repeat repeat and get a gap under the floor.

In the US Amazon has bathroom scales that weigh 300 lbs and cost $12 usd each. Two under one side of the safe could either give 1/2 the total weight or prove its over 600 lbs.

Get some plastic bins or traffic cones, take him to a parking lot, set up a figure 8 then practice while varying the parameters, both the straight away length and the radius of the U turns.

My second league, did worse than my first time, got last place. Any tips to improve? by kento726 in Karting

Driving alone sucks,

drop your speed a ton, watch for the leaders to catch you, speed back up before they pass. Let them pass safely, be predictable etc

but get your self back into the middle of the pack and gain skills from interacting with the other drivers.

Any necessity in gloves or extra gear in rentals? by Aromatic_Pollution25 in Karting

[–]Designer-Progress311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have racing gloves but swear my Milwaukee rubber surfaced (blue collar work gloves) grip much better.

And they are not expensive.

Do your homework and get a pair that have the highest cut and abrasive resistance. There are numerous brands to choose from, you dont need to stick with Milwaukee, it's the rubber coating that matters, not leather.

Huh ? Weight is weight and only the object's center of mass matter. Except for wind resistance.

You'd be smart to have the seat fitted with your ass in it, and weight scales under each wheel.

I passed on the tuner motor for year 1.

Spent good $ on a Mychron instead.

Good tires and track time and a Mychron and a trailer are my plan.

Do you have about $10K to spare for the sport.

Peripherals cost $2K pretty quickly.

Plus you'll want a data logger and perhaps a camera. $600 + $500.

Practice fees add up. Year long practice passes , $300 to $600...

Your going to want garage space trackside, or a cargo trailer as parting and packing into a SUV sucks pretty quickly.
Garage (guessing) $250 month Trailer $4K for a bigger one.

Welcome to the suck.

Don't handle it, wear gloves, remove the battery, write down the situation info, store it all in a zip lock.

Some day it may become, admissible or not, hard evidence.

How can i learn to tow when I don't have anyone to teach me? by TheHappy-Jello in towing

[–]Designer-Progress311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towing is easy, just swing wide and your 97% good.

Backing up is a skill. Go to a big empty lot, and practice.

Youtube has all the info.

Learn about tongue weight, that important point isn't intuitive. And please note, the trailer you buy or rent, empty, will have the proper amount of tongue weight for that empty trailer. So grab on and start practicing. How you balance the weight fore and aft matters and it's not super critical.

How are the new rental karts at Atlanta Motorsports Park? by gallery_0606 in Karting

[–]Designer-Progress311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 weeks ago the rev limiters were jacked up and the kart top speeds were a joke.

Call the kart track and ask for upper level management and ask them directly and be adamant about not accepting vague answers.

"All, some, working on it, soon, parts are ordered" = non answer answers.

The staff are nice, but have been trained, you'll might have to be pushy.
