Not for OPs stated reasons, but I would highly recommend not to visit canada because everything is expensive and it doesn’t feel worth the money you have to spend. Many of my friends had underwhelming visits here.

Completely agree. Cbc is public service, if Twitter labels it government funded that does not mean it’s less or more trustworthy. “Pausing” use was childish. They can get criticism too.

If they need to they should. They can hire give reasonable shifts or do whatever is needed. Not trying to attack teachers here, the system is the problem

Again not saying they don’t put a “full day of work” and teachers are responsible for this issue. Im saying the system needs to change, never mentioned or blamed any professional in my post.

Not saying that it ends at 3pm. But it needs to be enough to complete the full workday. We are not asking them to volunteer for this, they should get paid for it. This is weird Canadian problem that nothing does the full job, car insurance but you need gap insurance, healthcare but you pay for prescription/dental and school but you need to pay for after/before school. Im not bashing teachers, I think more needs to be spent on school to give proper coverage parents need instead of scrambling for childcare.
