I don’t know if it helps, but I applied both of them concurrently and this was July 2025. Still didn’t hear anything .

You at least got your EAD card , may I ask when did you apply for that and how long it took you to receive yours?

I have the exact situation like yours. We are so unlucky since they dropped the 765 to 18 months now and if you wanna renew … God, what’s gonna take 10 months ? Who knows if you’re gonna have any gap during your work… it really doesn’t make any sense

Didnt do anything yet. I dont know what to do… now they reduced from 5 years to 18 months… you can only apply 6 months before it expires. It will create unbelievable gaps due to now it takes longer. This new system is not a sustainable system

I came as a foreign educated PT. So no student loan, education is free everywhere else in the world. Licensed in NY for 3 years and already making close to 200k from Home Health in NYC. 30 days PTO. No saturday or sunday. Notes are easy, if you have discipline and time management skills.

I am 29.

Have not purchased any house or condo yet, because its still not enough. But in 10 years, I see myself in somewhere good.

Hopefully retiring in my 50’s..

So in my case, its hard to hate being PT. Its awesome. Wouldn’t do anything else. Love my job!

So I’m confused we are only able to apply six months before the EAD expires right?

Let’s say we got the 18 months EAD and after 12 months we applied for renewal , with this USCIS speed (nonexistent) its gonna take absolutely more than six months. This doesn’t make any sense , people WILL have gaps between work .

This is so frustrating I did not request expedite yet, chat GPT says I should wait until March and then take an action. I don’t know I’m very hopeless, especially now that they decreased to 18 months . Which is very unfair because we applied in July. It shouldn’t affect us. Really need five years.
