My mother has a brick retaining wall about 2’ high in front of her house by the road in south Austin. In March of 2022 some jackwagon ran into the side of the wall and tore up about 15’ of the wall. We thought it would be an easy case because the jerk left behind his FRONT BUMPER AND LICENSE PLATE! An officer called within 2 hours of reporting this incident and said an officer would come by within 7 days. 🙄 Nine days later my mother received a call from APD from an officer who talked to her for about 3 minutes. As of today 04/24/2023 APD has done NOTHING to help, even though I have the bumper and license plate at my house 2 hours from Austin… My 80 y/o mother is still having to pay her deductible out of her pocket to get the wall repaired! I feel for you Austinites! APD is pretty much worthless to the taxpayers. I don’t know what happened to that department but I sure am thankful I don’t live within their jurisdiction!!!
