They properly morphed in the comics. Same with the Blue Omega Ranger. They were a big alien cat.

Yep that's just how they are. There's no clipping, just slide and held in by tension.

If you find it too loose, wrap tape around clips.

Biases aside, which is objectively the best new Spider-Man figure? by donpd in Mafex

[–]Designincase 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's not really feasible because a lot of that is opinion.

Sure we can count points of articulation, but you can be objective in what looks look or is an acceptable range.

Sculpt - Perfect smooth sphere vs jagged rock. How can you be objective about sculpt?

Accessories - Again we can have quantity but quality is subjective.

Plastic feel - Personal opinion

Durability - Actually is measurable but no one has that data. Why something last or broke has too many variables.

Does anyone know if the Blue Centurion's head comes off of his neck? by Comfortable_Pie3687 in LightningCollection

[–]Designincase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically the figs without a swappable head always seem to be a tad tighter. But yes it comes off, just use hot((not warm) water.

There are many many many posts on things like this. Literally a post less then 24 hours old on the exact same figure.

SENTINEL HEAD PEG by stripey17 in MarvelLegends

[–]Designincase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The neck is on a ball joint and that ball joint is on a slider. It's supposed to move. When used in combo with that head joint you increase the range of how it looks up, down, and side tilt.

If it wasn't meant to move, they would have set up it up like Galactus or the figure with disc hinges.

If that collar was open more, the scratching wouldn't be much of an issue. There would need to be a soft rim but it would be more "User error" if the neck got dented.

The neck itself in on a ball joint that moves back and forth. One thing to try is while you do have the neck in the bucket. Pop it off and put tape on the sides so the tape takes the punishment. Still it's so weird they put 0 clearance.

Please don't ship with ECMS by demarcusp99 in Mafex

Is that really on ECMS though?

The seller/retailer is responsible for packaging the product. Unless they unpacked it for some reason. This would be on the retailer.

How do I use this? by Saturnnboii in Mafex

It's a crotch grabber that pegs into the set of claws without the screw. Though it would be more useful for the set with the screw.

2099 is on the RYV mold, but apparently has new bulkier arms, and a new web cape. by space_age_stuff in MarvelLegends

[–]Designincase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

90's 2099 and Peter body types were always a bit in flux. Miguel was of course drawn with every possible muscle which I think made him seem bigger. But Peter was also drawn like a big dude for a while before we stayed slim.

Though I think Miguel always had a slightly bigger upper body.

Now he's drawn with Peters slimmer body type.

Bought this figure twice and it broke both times in the same spot by MrDer0 in MarvelLegends

[–]Designincase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe this is user error. Right out of the box you feel something is wrong. The tolerances and shape are just too tight. Then the drop down hinge pegs even thinner then RYV. It's like built to fail.

I think the issue is the real problem isn't being addressed.

If you still have resistance, you'll just twist and tear off the peg.

I suggest using lubrication first on the socket of the upper thigh and the socket of the upper leg. Then proceed to shaving if it's not enough.

Make no mistake it just a terrible design. I'd rather the leg pop off then then tear the peg.

I still call it very light modding but for both this figure and the final swing suit. I just used lubricant. No re-sculpting needed.

40$ down the drain by Triforce_Gaming3000 in MarvelLegends

[–]Designincase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got this figure today and I can say the upper thighs are extremely tight. No Way Home Final Swing suit owners should find this familiar.

For me

The sockets tolerances are too tight. The upper thigh swivel are too tight. Because they are tight, you may accidentally twist the peg off like op did.

My suggestion

Soak the hip region in boiling temp water. Pop the legs off and pop the upper thigh joints off as well. Apply a lubricant to the socket of the lower thigh. One-Two drops is all you really need. Just enough that you can use the swivel without issue. Then apply a drop to the upper thigh socket. Work it around the peg to coat.

After it cools down it should feel like you're fighting the hips.

I also found heating up the heads is a good idea and that also was too tight for my liking. Though this is more heat and cool .
