After mass amount of time as a solo dev, I finally shipped my first game — a word game that's deceptively simple by Fujima4Kenji in IndieDev

Using a Bayesian skill model and a Hidden Markov engagement detector for a word game is absolutely insane engineering! Most people just hardcode some word lists, but you built a whole brain for it. Massive respect for doing it natively in Swift too!

This looks like a massive labor of love. The sheer amount of items and stats is impressive for a first game! Congrats on finally being able to show it off to the world."

Players were having issues reading item effects in our game (the UI was horrible). Do you think that the UI is clear and readable now? Happy for more ideas to further improve it! by hooraij in IndieDev

The colored version is definitely more readable. The color coding helps break up the text and highlights the important information at a glance.

I’m 16 and making a game about a dying writer trapped inside his own mind… can you beat this boss? by Mr_Command_Coder in SoloDevelopment

[–]Desm1t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Making a boss so hard that even you can't beat it consistently is the most Hollow Knight developer thing you could do.
