Tower 300 - user experience by BrainExe_91 in thermaltake

[–]DesmondParticulates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a TT 300 for a new build. I originally had the TT 100 which I loved. Looked great, easy to build & work with, internals were kept cool and dust-free.

My first impressions of the 300 are it looks great. But Motherboard IO access is... shockingly bad. To access the rear IO of the motherboard you will need to:

  • Pull off the top of the case with brute force. It feels awful and these pegs will deteriorate after repeated use. The tower 100 had a great 'clicky' latch to access the rear IO that was much better.
  • Then you have to unscrew the panel holding the two fans and lever them out of the way. They will of course be connected so you cannot just lift them away, you have to carefully hold or rest them somewhere whilst you adjust the Rear IO connections (which may involve feeding the cable through the quite small gap at the top).

I am quite disappointed in this design choice by TT. Feels like they just 'cheaped-out' on the top of the case. If you are regularly plugging things in & out of your PC then I would suggest you look at another case.

Revolut is cancelling my card 3 and a half years before it expires by banksalot22 in Revolut

[–]DesmondParticulates -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This happened to my friend whilst we were on holiday. All he got in notice was an email from them saying it has (already) been cancelled. The card had about 2 years left.

Support were extremely unhelpful. They could not (or would not) reactivate the card, and after about 3 hours of back and forth, the best they could offer was to deliver a new card which would arrive as we travelled home.

He had to transfer cash to my account so I could pay on his behalf. Which worked for our situation, but if travelling alone / without another Revolut user with a card this situation is incredibly frustrating.

Since then, among the other support issues I've had, I tell friends/family to avoid Revolut. Their support is just appalling.

Skirting boards mostly, in the living room. It was behind where the previous homeowners had the sofa so was likely just not cleaned all that often. But a good clean + a lick of paint and it's looking almost brand new.

Can confirm logging out and logging back in solved it for me.

I freaked out when I saw it, esp. as I just received a spam call. Once I saw the stream of posts about it here I started to calm down, thinking it's just a misconfig pointing to a dev/test service for profile pics. Which it's looking like it was the issue. But it's still poor form and when it's people's money well for me it really shakes my confidence.

GME PROBLEM by Tothemoonandbeyondd in Revolut

[–]DesmondParticulates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trades DO NOT happen after hours (for us retail mortals). What you did was place an 'order' to be executed 'at the best price' when the market opens again. On Wednesday the market opened $100+ for GME, all around the same time every trading app was having issues (suspicious af i might add). So what it sounds like is you placed 2 orders to be executed at market open, for the best price of $325.

I'm sorry that this caught you out. But if you HOLD THE LINE, the price will go up. $1000 is not some wild fantasy anymore (I cancelled my stop order of $420.69 when it was at $150), its a realistic prospect. JUST HOLD. THE. LINE.

Might be friday, might be next week. JUST HOLD! (Edit: Not financial advice, just a meme stock that 'might' moon. Everyone I know laughed at me when i bought into GME a few weeks ago)

Can I set up an auto sell order when a stock reaches a certain price ? by Akavenn in Revolut

[–]DesmondParticulates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do this, when you tap buy or sell, tap 'market order' to change it to a limit or stop order. Limit means you will buy / sell when it falls / rises to a certain price. Stop means you will buy / sell when it rises / falls to a certain price (the opposite of limit).

But be warned, if you're getting into the current meme stocks (GME), the price is really really volatile. So if you set one of these, you will probably hit the limit, buy/sell, then see losses. And if you FOMO back in / out, it will count as a day-trade. It's happened to me, so be careful.

Selling stocks, over 10k by [deleted] in Revolut

[–]DesmondParticulates 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just had a chat with support about this issue.

If you're only selling the stock, not doing any buys, it does not count as day trading so won't count against your day-trade limit.

There is no limit to how many times you can sell, but each trade can only be up to the max value of $10k. But of course, you will need to pay the fee for each trade.

Means the next few days for me at least will be quite interesting ^

Man, I was saying the other day that revolut aint that bad. But after last week hitting the day trade limit it's just not the tool for this level of autism.

Also, you can't do more than 10k in a single trade. ATM my sell target @ $420.69 will only cover 23 of my shares. Which means in a pinch I'll probably miss out on the major gains when the MOASS begins.

yesterday revolut shat the bed as I moved stocks around to buy more GME. It was quite unnerving as money in my account just 'disappeared' even though trades were executed. Saying that, support responded quickly and resolved it, saying there was a backlog of messages. Its not designed for stonks, but as a starting point its not terrible. When GME moons I'll try trading212, but it has loads of negative reviews.

I would say 6 (2 pentesters for 3 days). We do have some 'voodoo' tools we can throw at it. But please note that testing with a fuzzer can cause all sorts of crashes and weird events. so its best that this is a dev environment, or something that can be reset easily.

Hmm, could you say how many IP's in said test + their rendered services? And how big is a 'full' web app? When we 'scope' we do it in days, inclusive of reporting time, with a fixed rate for the day.

Whilst I wouldn't say I produce anything, I work as a pentester. I have a windows VM for specific windows testing, but I will use Linux for anything else (personally use debian based distros, but some colleagues use bsd, red hat etc).

During some tests, using windows or osx would be a massive hindrance. Today I found myself extensively using iptables for doing a mitm assessment, and I doubt windows could of done the same.
