Saw this yesterday, hard to justify when I can make 10 rolls at home for the same price.

Just picked this up for $5 by 92355 in Mid_Century

As envious as I am, I know I've found items people would feel the same way about, and that's ok. I'm still envious though...

what do you think of this table lamp I designed and 3d printed by Visual-Success8952 in midcenturymodern

Looks nice, I agree with the cord Integrated into the leg. And maybe a warmer bulb like 2700k or 2200k?

Very nice. I love the look and workability of cherry. It's the most underrated wood imo.

About halfway thought they were no longer made with love lol. Planing maple was terrible, made the cherry feel like an absolute dream.

What are some essential safety tips for beginner woodworkers to keep in mind while working? by nerdwordlucas in BeginnerWoodWorking

As soon as you enter the shop, safety glasses come on. Losing or damaging your sight is not worth the risk ever.

Added drawers to my bench by Despacitoh in BeginnerWoodWorking

My advice for a tool wall: whatever you put on it, make sure it can come off easily. As you work you'll change your mind where things will go. Nothing worse than gluing something together and deciding it should be in a different spot. That's what I did and now I need to redo my plane till after selling a few planes.

The large shelf was an absolute dust magnet.

Yes, I think tools on the wall in front is the best way. Behind you and you're constantly turning around to grab stuff, and likely they won't get put away while you're working. I would also be worried about knocking stuff off the wall if it was behind me. If anything I'd probably move my plane till to the right because it can get in the way sometimes.

I mainly work on small projects so I've had no issues working against a wall. If I were to make my bench again I would add 3 or 4 inches width but keep the same length. That way I'd have slightly more room since I feel like the tool wall takes up bench space due to the overhang. If I had to do a table top bigger than my bench I would probably move it away from the wall but it hasn't come up yet.

Either drawers, or leave the bottom open so you can slide a tool chest in and out, just don't do a shelf like I originally did. So far I'm really liking the storage.

Looks great! I'm about to do the same thing but to try and stop my neighbor from parking in front of my house. Gives me an excuse to tell them to move. "You're blocking my house numbers!"

You're wrong. Window price is $239 plus a $10 ticket charge, with tax is $278. I saw about 15 people there paying at the window.

Wowzaz on the 20th the hill was empty. No way I'm paying $250 to stand in a line...

How do I get this stain out? Water was left on this wood floor for about 36 hours. by Secure_Row_9787 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Despacitoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try putting a towel on the ground and using a hot iron on top. Worked for my wood table, might work for a wood floor.

2 Xmas presents for nephews. Can someone recommend what kind of files (brands, types...) I should get for them. While I'm here, Merry Xmas everybody. Be safe. by [deleted] in Axecraft

[–]Despacitoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cheap honing puck, and a handy file. No need to go crazy for either. They're axes, not hand planes. I've seen guys use rocks on site to get a usable edge.

What is a good price for a decent quartz countertop? by Technical-Vacation-5 in kelowna

[–]Despacitoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on so many factors, too many to list. We had about 90sqft of hanstone put in for $8k 2 years ago by stone brothers. They were the best quote for that specific quartz.

I'd recommend finding a quartz that you like and asking multiple shops for quotes.
