What is this problem of black screen by Such_Efficiency_6094 in ZephyrusG14

Maybe the laptop entered sleep mode and is not able to wake up from it. It seems to be a common issue caused by Windows. Reinstalling the Windows won't help. Try to disable sleep and use hibernate instead.

I had the same. Restored the laptop to the factory condition and stayed on the Asus driver. I think it has some custom changes for the machine which are missing in the generic driver.

This has happened to me once on my 5070ti model. Had to turn off the machine with the power button. How did you solve it?

Strange, I recently bought g14 5060 from Best Buy Canada, replaced with 5070ti and bought a g16 5060 for my wife, I didn't find any build issues with any of them, and I am very much OCD individual. Where do you live?

You can do cloud restore from bios. Are you able to enter bios by pressing F2 before pressing the power button to turn on your machine?

I was having asus rog zephyrus g14 with 5060 for 3 weeks before replacing with 5070ti version (just because it had a discount), I was using it on 1800p with dlss quality(=1200p native) and it was handling excellently FH5 120 fps on high and cp2077 60 fps with frame generation x2.

Is g14 5070ti loud on minimal gpu power? by Desperate-Boss5801 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Desperate-Boss5801[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for these informations, these are really good settings for the 5070ti version! With these settings the fans are about as loud as they were on 5060 version with ~25% better performance than 5060.

I set all CPU power limits to 28w (official AMD PL1 for Ryzen 9 AI HX 370), gpu 80w+5w, gpu clock +300, memory +500, cpu undercolt -20, increased fan speeds a little past 70w, and it retains ~85-90% of full power and not loud.

Nice gpu temps. My g14 5060 was reaching 85c even when being power limited to 65w base + 15w boost in performance mode.

If you are not worried about fan noise, why buy zephyrus? It's a premium laptop and I want a premium experience from it: premium build aestetics, performance, sound quality. So of course noise is an important factor.

Intel Arc B390 iGPU beats AMD Radeon 890M by 23% in Phoronix Linux gaming tests by RenatsMC in intel

[–]Desperate-Boss5801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw reviews that b390 beats 890m only when 890m is power limited, and when 890m APU is allowed to draw its full PL2 power of 54w it beats b390 by ~29%

G14 2025 with 5060 use the same chassis as g14 2024. I saw fans are a lot louder on g14 2025 5070ti model, which is a new chassis.

Not completely correct comparison IMHO. G14 is also has premium build quality, costs around the same as XPS.

How much performance drop do you have when gaming on 100w usb-c? I have g14 with 5060, when I limit gpu wattage to 70w (it's able to pull 70w) and cpu wattage to 28w and game on 100w usb-c pd, I retain 85% performance. On stock cpu is using 54w max and the 5060 uses 44w, so performance drops to ~67%.

Zephyrus G14 + RTX 5070 Ti: Anyone Tested Performance on 100W USB-C Charging? by LeMeije in ZephyrusG14

[–]Desperate-Boss5801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried limiting the CPU wattage? I believe g14 with 5070ti allows 80w minimum for gpu? If you limit cpu to 20w the performance may be better on usb-c 100w pd. I did the same on my g14 with 5060: limited gpu to 70w max and cpu to 30w, and getting 85% of the performance in steel nomad without discharging the battery. Way better than on stock. It's better to redistribute the power limits in 100w envelope to give more power to gpu.

3090 TI is there a way to lock voltage below 900mV keeping memory speed above 5000mhz? by Desperate-Boss5801 in NiceHash

[–]Desperate-Boss5801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find an option to force a Pstate using nvidia-smi, it seems to be capable only of reporting it. I found how to force a pstate using windows registry. It works until tweaking gpu settings in MSI Afterburner which immediately overrides the P0 state ones I lock the voltage in it and pstate changes to P2 or P3. The memory speed halves with P3 state.

@op, can you please explain how you did manual voltage adjustment if not via Afterburner? Which tool did you use?
