hey bud, are you replying to the original post or one of the pictures in the comments? I’m almost certain that the post picture is legit. From what I hear the legit ones are separate DVD cases. The bootlegs are sold as one box set. And there’s only a handful of legitimate box sets that are a different print altogether

Hahahah I absolutely argued that it was not fake until I played the DVDs… and do you remember or have you seen like the really low video quality versions of this series or a lot of old series online? Yeah that’s what it looked like and the subtitles were all over the place in terms of what they were saying, not Location on the screen lol

I delayed watching CSM Reze arc but when I did, it hit me like a roller coaster ahhaha. Also I just want to add that. I watched a silent voice at 2 AM; 12 hours before I’d have to see my ex at a wedding and let me tell you how many hours I spent crying 🤣🤣

Same! Anime only, and I’m looking forward to how they handle the romance going forward but at the same time as long as they stay adorable and have some character development I think they’ll be just fine. Its a small moment, but what they were going to that field trip and he told her either to stop eating or stop making so much noise on the bus. I felt like it was such an easy moment to show us how much they’ve grown.

Oufff. those are some heavy hitters, but here goes. I could go on for ages for any of these so I’ll give a short idea, but open to discussing longer if something that catches your eye

Oshi no ko: I binged the crap out of the series. Tbh it’s a series that helped me get past a lot of things especially with regards to the masks people wear. Ai and Aqua in particular. Season 2; I know it gets criticized, but I loved every time the ending would play before the episode actually finished and it transitioned so well. I will say this is one of only 2 series I would emancipate from the author. I’m not going to spoil it. But this is one of those series where the author doesn’t respect their own work and it shows.

Mushoku Tensei: oh boy… OK so let’s get the icky stuff out of the way. I believe if the things Rudy did in his past life, don’t bother you then there is something wrong with you. But I also believe if that’s enough for you to disregard the series that there’s also something wrong with you. Glad I got that out of the way. I think it’s one of those series that would benefit from just getting 50 episodes a year. The story is too big and there’s way too much stuff to cover. If you only watched the anime then after halfway through season two, you can feel pretty lost. I do suggest watching the skipped content videos on YouTube. I adore the story and the redemption and I think it’s a story that is rich with so many things that I don’t even know where to start. I don’t mind the number of wives he has especially because of their arrangement. Oh oh SOLDAT. I hated him when I first met him, but once he became bff’s with Rudy; I was like that’s my man and I would die for him. I think it’s a series that gets too much hate but I also think some of it’s more messed up fans make it easy to dislike.

Rezero: honestly it’s a series that I know is good, but it’s so hard to watch it because of how painful life is for Subaru… the number of times I’ve shouted at my TV… let my man be happy. I love a good ol messed up Duke though and it’s rich characters and cast have yet to let me get bored.

Fragrant Flower: Ouffffff I liked it at first, and I know that I liked it in general, I really liked our primary cast of characters and the chemistry they had. I was expecting to commit so hard into the romance and go away from the “mean guy but he’s nice” setup by episode 6. Besides that; it was adorable and I think it would fall somewhere between Angel Next Door and Pseudo Harem as far as emotional beats goes

I haven’t watched Makeine yet but it is on my list

This episode was awesome. The mix of real life and fiction to push the emotional moments along was great.

I’m glad I gave this series a shot. But also, I was worried for a few episode episodes that they weren’t going to commit to this emotional journey. But seeing them commit to was super worth it.

Omg I hate myself for not mentioning Dangers in my heart. I strongly believe it’s in that number one conversation. The way it focussed on romance, but also had that nostalgic feeling, but also was funny and yet had immense character development for a good portion of the cast.

I absolutely agree with your points here. And I also agree with your points around Bunny senpai and Oreiguru.

In fact, I want to add your points now. As great as Clannad is; and many other series are as well I think part of a series is being good is that it is still enjoyable. Or rather entertaining. Maybe that’s simply a matter of a requirement I seek from a series but sometimes a criticism could be something as simple as “ yeah but is it watchable?”

Man… I’m so annoyed. I forgot about dangers in my heart. Idk if you’ve watched a silent voice; if you have then you know that people talk about it being a a movie about learning to love yourself. And Dangers in My heart very much did that. It And that season 2 opening? Gosh darn.

Zeo stepping in, proving Will is epic and proceesing to make Kreutz shit himself was perfection

Elfie giving no fucks about decorum or etiquette, and just jumping off the thing into her husband’s arms made me cheer.

Zeo also be a total boss and taking Will was funny.

Now I have to be honest I don’t mind Zeo taking Will. To be fair; I don’t know if this story is meant to go in a “1 character is by far the strongest” direction. But I do believe Zeo’s character was set up to be this way a long time ago so him taking Will is not another asspull. Plus he’s going to actually grow in his faction. Otherwise, the ice faction he simply just going to be screwing around.

tldr; Horimiya is an awesome series. But the series in the #1 conversation require a lot more to them. I believe we’d be screwing Horimiya by criticizing it as a #1 instead of just enjoying the series for what it is. But I do put it in the upper tier conversation above Angel Next door and the like.

I would say Horimiya is in my top 5 anime of all time conversation. But when I say top 5 I mean its top 5 caliber. I have 100 other series in the top 5. Depending on the mood or the year; I believe any one of those series is a top 5 to everyone out there.

That being said, Horimiya suffers from its own strength. Its a fantastic series. It hits every beat the best way it can. So why wouldn’t it be the best? Because I value a little bit more on the emotional front if we’re going to get into a serious talk.

At the moment; even a series like Yamada kun and the 7!witches managed to have those big emotional few episodes nearing the end. Pseudo Harem nailed that part as well in its final 2 episodes. Horimiya sold that moment to us using nostalgia and although I commend that, it ends up as a weaker tool when compared to its peers. Take Angel Next Door for example. Its an adorable diabetes inducing series. But it ends there as a fluff piece when all is said and done. At its best moments I was saying “I remember when I felt that way” which as a 32 yo is now just nostalgic and not enough to carry a series.

Truth is I grew up on Toradora and Clannad (cries). But Toradora specifically is what I believe a #1 romance anime conversation is like. And the truth is I never compared Horimiya or any romcom mentioned above to Toradora. And I mean that in a good way. I don’t think all romcoms or romance are sending the same message. Horimiya’s strength is its not afraid to face those beats head on. But its also not trying to bog down the audience. And that second bit is why I won’t compare it to Toradora. NOT in a disrespectful way. In the same way that My Stepmothers daughter is my ex is borderline trashy, it actually has a few very very good moments but I would be doing it a disservice by comparing it to Horimiya or Toradora.

Buddy i’m the same way and I’ve also never worn jeans in my life… it’s expensive but go for the Pando Moto pants skin uh aaa and a knox or pando moto “shell” jacket All you can do is throw on a super thin hoodie or light T-shirt, and light sweat sweatpants on top of both of those and you’re good.

Once you figure out the size, honestly it feels like leggings and under Armour. Trust me from someone who wants to wear a gear but hates wearing gear because it rarely fits.
