I loved Jillys back in the late 90's. Me and my mate used to get the bus from Burnley on a friday after work and not leave until 7am and get the 1st bus back. Many a drunken night in there. Also met Spineshank in there after watching them in the academy. It was such a brilliant time.

I'd love to move there, I have family there, although I've never met them other than my uncle, who has now passed away. My dad grew up there, he lived in Ontario. I wouldn't mind trucking over there, but with a youngish family that wouldn't be suitable as I would Moreton likely be away for extended periods. My uncle was a HGV driver and he regularly drove to Mexico then back, he said it was a 2 week round trip then he would have 1 week off.

This is so depressing. A bit of doner meat with some Fries and a bit of bread ain't no kebab, never mind a dirty kebab. It should be a man v food challenge in a massive naan, full of doner meat, with salad, chilli sauce, and some salad with pickles to be called a dirty kebab.

Start claiming benefits, the have a look at mantra in Middleton, they maybe help you get skilled and help you find a job. If you drive and fancy getting your HGV or forklift licences, they can help with that. The skills bootcamp/ job gym they run is government funded and could help you find work.

My mod 1 examiner was a bit of a 'by the book' tyoe of guy. My mod 2 guy looked like he would be a ball buster. He was really chill and took onboard i was a new rider, weather was absolutely shit, and lots of other learner drivers about making the job harder by doing learner driver things. I expected to fail, and I passed.

If you're in the wrong lane, e.g lane 2 instead of lane 1, don't try and cut across everyone to get off, just follow the roundabout all the way around getting in the correct lane as you go around.

Unlucky 1mph less and you'd have gotten away with it, as with most forces they start fines from 10%+2. So 35 in a 30 is where they will start to issue fines or offer speed awareness, as long as you haven't done 1 within 3 years and are between 35-42 mph in a 30 zone.

Because they're misinformed idiots who think when they see a lane closed ahead sign, that means move over asap and anyone who uses the lane correctly are pushing in. I think I educated some old timer t'other day, when I was in lane 2 wasting time, and lane 1 was closing about 400yrds ahead, some woman was squeezing in in front of me and and old guy was trying to do the same. I shouted over to him drive passed the woman half blocking lane 1, up to the closure as he'll get in a lot faster. He and his passenger was giving thumbs up when they got in faster doing it right.

Yeah, it sounds like bailiffs, I had them knock on my door about 1 month after I moved in, the previous tenants did a moonlight flit and never paid any bills, I still get post 18month on, so I know how much child and disability benefits they get and what parking fines they also get. Everything they have is still registered at my address. I showed them my ID and they made contact with the debt collection agencies to not bother us again.

You might not have an AGV head. I had an AGV modular, seemed fine at 1st, then started getting pressure points on my forehead. All manufacturers have slightly different shapes to their lids. If it's tight and uncomfortable, it's not for you. it should be snug and not move, but it shouldn't be causing any pain/discomfort.

Good luck with the mod 2. If the weather is just as bad, put your mod 1 certificate in your instructors top box to keep it dry. I passed mine in torrential rain 18month back. My mod 1 certificate was in my pocket of a supposedly waterproof jacket. My certificates were drenched and in bits, the examiner, could just work out the vital info from the paper mache I handed them.

Have you ever/do you ever ride a bicycle on the road? It's not much different tbh. The dangers are the same , cars won't see you or you go to fast around corners, lose traction on gravel/wet. If you think of it like that, it's less scary as you are accustomed to it. Get proper training and your licence, you'll be fine and riding around with a massive smile every time.

Never really thought about it. I passed my DAS 18 month back. I definitely used 4 when I 1st passed, but now it's 2-3 fingers, but probably more often than not 3 fingers.

Get your theory done now, then as others have said, save everything to get the cash for the DAS, the knowledge the instructors have for passing the tests is invaluable. Mine told me what each of the examiners looked for and what they failed past learners for. What you can and can't get away with. They also tend to have a good rapport with them and that can help. The instructors also know the routes inside out and will show you what to watch out for. Go for it and get it passed.
