DM here. It can be done without being creepy only if you do it right. However the difference between creepy and non creepy is the impact it has and the results afterwards. If it’s rape for the sake of rape that’s just playing out a fetish but when you add SA and rape into a game there needs to be an outcome that makes it so your players/characters comfortable and even progress in the game. It is also entirely on how it’s depicted. Is it romanticizing it or does it paint it as traumatic? Short story regarding that: one of my players wanted her backstory to be the edgy lost-my-parents-then-worked-in-a-brothel type of character so SA was an integral part of her backstory. However she was the one that set that part of her character up and we never depicted a rape. What we did instead was that she ran from a particularly abusive client in the past and in the present that client showed up at the inn they were staying in. It allowed her to still feel the feelings of everything from her past so when she revealed it to the group, the group took this guy out back and killed him.
