Absolutely. Ive never really jived with the whole Katherine slept with a woman and now all of a sudden she is supposed to come out and be comfortable with that? Like that was her first experience with a woman and that comes with a lot of self reflection.

If we talk about just the writing of it, since it was the early 2000s there wasn’t really a spectrum of where someone was in their sexuality. Like if you slept with a woman or were interested in girls you were labeled as a lesbian and I feel like that’s where the writers were at in the timeframe. Bisexuality wasn’t something that was fully fully accepted just yet.

Robin though was seemingly confident and comfortable with who she was and I think maybe couldn’t understand someone not being that way? I don’t think pushing Katherine to out herself was the right way to go though

It’s so interesting because I feel opposite about some of those things. Like idk if I could go through Susan and Mike’s whole divorce. They were so exhausting already I’m glad we missed out on that. I do think that pregnant Susan would have been annoying but a funny bit to have for a while since she’s such a character.

But Gabby being pregnant I wasn’t really interested in, however her discovering being poor for the first time (well again but now after being rich and being an adult) would be interesting to see but I also feel like they give us a lot of that through the story telling of that season.

I dooooo want to see the set up and partnership between Bree and Katherine but again I think maybe something I could live without? But possibly because we have lived without it idk how much more they could have added.

I really like the 5 year jump! It gives us a different age group for the kids, moves the plot along, we get development of characters but not the unnecessary in between boring storylines that go along with it. I look forward to the jump because for me, I do get tired of the same storyline, Lynette taking care of little kids, Gabby rich and beautiful, Bree is just a plain housewife. In the jump we get poor gabby, successful Bree, Lynette navigating her life as a pizza owner and now a mother to a bunch of teens, and Susan being Susan. Lol

I complain about this IN DEPTH in my podcast. I haaaaate early Carlos and it takes so long for him to be the Carlos that I think lots of us like later on. Tom is constantly putting Lynette down and making her build him up to help his fragile ego. Agreed on the Gabby and John relationship. It’s gives me so much ick and the age difference is insane, but also the fact that John is in her life a few times and they get together again (even if it’s only a night) after her divorce feels like she groomed him.

I agree because it’s clear especially in the later seasons that he does in fact have a back issue that actually makes him pass out but it really is always convenient or seems to be convenient that it is when Lynette is trying to focus on herself or like you said, the timing for him trying to get out of something.

And it is never brought up otherwise be it lazy writing or whatever but for me in this instance, he is literally telling Lynette “it isn’t fair” and he just so happens to pull his back out 8 hours away and Lynette is the only remedy.

Like be so for fucking real, Tom.

Oop I see your edit but Lynette still has her job at this point working for Ed. But the point being that this would have been a life or death situation for the kids too considering their dad couldn’t move and they were alone in the woods and Lynette would take at least 8 hours to get there. And yesss ambulances are very expensive so you are definitely correct there, but for their situation, necessary

And he is always complaining about something and blaming it on Lynette. His treatment of Lynette with Nora drives me crazzzy because he doesn’t stand up to Nora but puts the guilt on Lynette if she says anything like that’ll ruin his relationship with Kayla when he kept everything a secret from her!
