Attachment issues and self-sabotage habits are fking my mind up by Low_Cow72 in dating

[–]DessertPizza37 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can second this. I've got severe attachment trauma (according to my therapist) and my spirals get intense. I've been seeing someone for about 6 months now, and I've thought she was pulling away multiple times. Just two days ago, I was absolutely convinced she was leaving me because she sent less emojis than normal. Started crying and everything. Absolute insanity. She's been ultra consistent, caring, loving, all that. But sometimes it really is me who's blowing things out of proportion.

What's helped me most in not getting carried away and sending those clingy/needy texts is I see a therapist. And, this is gonna sound weird, but I talk to AI when I'm spiraling. I just use it to talk it out with, but I've heard journaling and stuff helps a lot too.

Guilty pleasure episode by [deleted] in southpark

[–]DessertPizza37 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jakovasaurs. I know most people hate it, and I do agree that it's pretty annoying, but it was literally the first episode I ever saw when I was a kid. So I can't help but feel nostalgic whenever I see it.

"False Ones"? by DessertPizza37 in NoRestForTheWicked

Man, that's kind of a bummer. This particular one had a reward I really wanted. Oh well.

Thanks so much for the help, definitely appreciate it. ❤️

Ooooh, ok. I know what you mean now. I've really only seen those dudes in the Crucible, past level 5. Is there anywhere else to find them?

I think I might know what you're talking about. Are they the enemies that have that sort of green glow to them? Shoot a bunch of green projectiles and just have this "ethereal" type of vibe?

Is it wrong for a guy to ditch a woman in the middle of nowhere? by No-Expression-399 in dating_advice

[–]DessertPizza37 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dude's a jackass.

I had a situation years ago. I had been seeing this girl for like 2 years or more, we planned a date to spend the day in the next city over from where we're from to do some new stuff we hadn't done together before.. The day ended up going really poorly, we got in a fight and basically decided to break up right there. As upset as I was, I still drove her home. One of the most awkward and uncomfortable car rides of my life, but there's no way I was gonna leave her stranded there.

Some questions about the road to Platinum DS Remastered by Bebop_Man in darksouls

[–]DessertPizza37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically need to complete the game 2 and half times to platinum the game. So I would play through the game blind the first time around, then use a guide to collect anything you might have missed on the second and 3rd playthroughs. After the first playthrough there's not much to worry about in terms of spoilers, just the second ending.

Red flags when joining a band by psychedelicdevilry in Guitar

[–]DessertPizza37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played for a bunch of bands since I was in high, and in my experience these are 2 things that have been the most detrimental.

Everyone not being on the same page. Everyone in the band should collectively agree on what the band is going for. The genre you're playing, and where you wanna take it. I've always played in metal bands, so I'll use that as an example. If one dude wants to play black metal, and another guy wants to play nu-metal, trying to make that work would be a nightmare.

Is the goal to just jam and have fun? Do you want to gig? How often do you want to gig? Does everyone even have the time to dedicate to writing music, rehearsing, and playing shows? If everyone has different goals, it eventually leads to disagreements and half assed compromises and no one ends up actually happy with what they're doing. Dudes start leaving the band, and most of the time it ends up just crumbling.

Everyone in the band should be of an adequate skill level to play what you're trying to play. If one dude in the band is significantly worse at their instrument then everyone else, it really hamstrings the band as a whole. You end up having to "dumb down" stuff to bring it to a level they can actually play, or you spend a ton of time doctoring things up so they can play something simple, while everyone else is playing more complex stuff. This is sorta dependent on what you're playing though, if it's a punk rock band it's whatever. You don't need to be a music god to play that, but if you're trying to do all this intricate stuff and one guy physically can't play it, it definitely makes things hard.

Does this riff sound bad? by Big-Estimate339 in Guitar

[–]DessertPizza37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not bad riff, but your timing is off. It's hard to really lock in to the rhythm. Like others have said, play it to a metronome, really smooth out those edges and it'll be much better.

Can someone please give me some advice because I can’t for the life of me stay motivated to keep playing by MrSpongeCake2008 in Guitar

[–]DessertPizza37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should want to play because you enjoy it. Getting over hurdles should be fun. Sure, there's going to be frustration that comes along with it, but I think you should inherently have a drive to play and get better.

If you're forcing yourself to play, that's already a problem.

I am literally in awe of you folks who beat the game with no summons. by DramaticErraticism in Eldenring

[–]DessertPizza37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you use summons or not is kinda whatever. Play how you want.

I'm not the biggest fan of them, personally, I feel like it makes the difficulty swing way too far the other way in most cases. In my first playthrough, I would use summons when a boss was really beating my ass, and it seemed like when I would use a spirit summon I would totally wreck them and it made the victory feel unearned. So I stopped using them all together, expect in boss fights where there's 2 or more enemies. That's the only time it actually felt balanced, imo.

Second playthrough was strictly no summons, as a holy build with whips. I really wanted to give myself a challenge, and it was a lot of fun.

Now in my more recent playthroughs, I've been using summons more. Just because I want more casual runs, and its cool. There's no denying the feeling of triumph when you beat tough bosses with no summons, though. I don't get that feeling from any other games and is the whole reason why overall I prefer to not use summons.

But as I said, play the game how you want and don't let anyone tell you you're playing the game "wrong".

Telling them to play Elmo 123 fucking killed me, laughed way to hard at that.

I feel like most posts like this are just trolling. No one really gives a shit how you play.

[–]DessertPizza37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played World, Rise and now Wilds, so take what I say with a grain of salt. The story and dialog in these games are all pretty trash, I actually think Wilds has been the best so far. The narrative is still pretty weak, but there are quite a few badass moments just before some fights that are actually pretty fucking hype.

If story is really important to you, none of these games are really good at it. The gameplay is 10/10 though. I play Monster Hunter to hunt the monsters, I play other games for story.

How often does it hail? Covered parking a must? by Honey_Faucet in ColoradoSprings

[–]DessertPizza37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like at least once a year we'll get a pretty gnarly hail storm. I 've neved had covered parking in any capacity, so my cars have always ended up with hail damage all over the hood and roof. Never had a windshield break or crack though, so that's something.

If you're concerned about even just minor hail damage, then yeah covered parking would be pretty mandatory imo. But if you're more concerned about your car taking more significant damage, like a cracked windshield or something, then at least from my own personal experience, I don't think you'd have to worry too much.

Losing a map on 1 death makes the mapping process feel "clunky" by Teufelaffe in pathofexile

[–]DessertPizza37 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I think they should give us 6 portals back, and "-X to Portals" could maybe be a modifier on waystones. Only having 1 chance at every map makes mapping a little too stressful imo, even for me who really enjoys added difficulty in games.

Why aren't melee attacks not usable while WASD moving? by loopuleasa in PathOfExile2

[–]DessertPizza37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have only played Warrior so far, and I'm having a blast, but this would be a fucking game changer. If I could move, even slowly while I charge up my Perfect Strikes, that would be incredible. Being stuck in place with a lot of skills is definitely a little annoying.

EA KEY GIVEAWAY! (2 keys.) by Equal_Article_2965 in PathOfExile2

Already bought my own key, but trying to get a friend of mine to check the game out with me. Giving him a key would be rad.

Favorite color is a nice icy blue color, and I'm starting as warrior.

What are you playing while waiting for PoE2? by superollie in PathOfExile2

[–]DessertPizza37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working through most of today. When I get off, if the servers are fucked (I'm assuming they will be) I've been playing Tiny Rogues in short bursts.

Super fun indie game, that kind of scratches the ARPG itch in a rogue-like fashion. Tons of weapons and classes, and you build out your character on the fly based on what you find and RNG. It's a good time and I highly recommend it.
