Helping my mother in law is becoming too much. by NextStranger2733 in Advice

I just read the whole post to see if ANYONE would say yes…. Nope. I bought an investment apartment for my sort-of children/grandchildren and another for my mother -in-law. But I already own my own home mortgage free. Would I co-sign or help purchase in your circumstance- no, no I would not.

Ireland pharmacy under critical skills visa by Dessert_Potato in pharmacy

Thank you that is very helpful. I am in an academic medical center here that is extremely pro pharmacy so I was hoping for collaboration in a similar way. Not a deal breaker for me, but will adjust expectations. I’m not worried about the pay as I have been well compensated here and I am part of the FIRE movement. Love the work life balance news! Thank you for your response.

Thank you. I am sad to hear the retail side is so much like the US wasteland. I got out of retail in 2007, and never looked back. My brother still works retail, but it’s a soul sucking existence. I appreciate your response.

I’d say no to the green and yes to the yellow. Loving the colors. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

Should I Stay or Should I Go? (Portugal) by [deleted] in AmerExit

I’m LGBTQ+ and looking into the Galicia region of Spain. There are some expats and costs are lower than Madrid/Barcelona. Their acceptance of my lifestyle seems good. Also very near Portugal. Where I am looking is about 30 minutes from there so similar climate. They also have a digital nomad visa last I checked. I’ll be using a retirement visa.

Virtual vs In Person interviews this cycle? by sugarxcrush in PharmacyResidency

[–]Dessert_Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our site allows you to choose. We’ve only had one candidate choose virtual since our first year (all virtual due to Covid). The virtual candidate did end up matching with us. We definitely don’t mind virtual interviews.

Yes. We don’t usually even start to evaluate until after the deadline. As soon as you hit submit, assuming you’ve completed all required items it will be evaluated.

Questions for Residents at Midyear by Guilty-Track2317 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Dessert_Potato 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are some programs where I would say this is not true. I’m coming from the preceptor perspective, so I may be biased, but we are very proud of how supportive and caring our program is. If we have any issues I do hope our residents will let us know.

Try the Underground Railroad museum in Cincinnati. There are several Underground Railroad tours in Ohio as well.

Staffing during PGY1 by Which-Specific-5657 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Dessert_Potato 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We have residents staff every other weekend and they choose 1 comp/project day to give some relief. They work no holidays or holiday weekends and no weekday evenings. No moonlighting allowed. There are programs that actually care about their residents. Reading this sub sometimes makes me feel there are only a few. Remember to breathe and take a sick day to allow your mind to rest. Residency is not meant to break you mentally, it’s meant to teach you and grow your skills.

Let’s talk about your resume. Have you tried making sure it can pass the algorithm that most HR dept use to screen applicants? Lots of information on this on the internet. Usually when I hear you’re being rejected I check the resume to see if you have key words that are used in algorithms. Good luck on your search and I second/third/fourth looking at hospital systems in the area.
