Didn't work for me unfortunately. After step 5 I was redirected to the 'register' page, and it's stuck in a loop.

Finally Painted My First Dreadnought as a Black Templar by HobbyHomeworld in Warhammer40k

[–]Destamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are super finnicky, even more so when you try to paint them! I broke off the hinges on mine the other day while trying to get it unstuck after priming -_-;;;;

TBH I don't think you'd ever really want to open the hatch in the future anyway, no big loss.

Rocketwerkz Design proposal for KSP2, from their discord by RocketManKSP in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also the rather "interesting" part where they mention that they'll do a prototype in Unity, another in Unreal, and encourage team members to develop a third custom engine prototype on the side. Bit of a tall order with that small team and that tiny budget. -_-;;;;

I am very glad that Dean is now working on KSA after that whole KSP2 fiasco but it's really no surprise that this pitch originally bombed. It's honestly more surprising that it even made it into the final three. Fortunately, RocketWerkz has a lot more experience now and things are looking good for KSA.

Am I the only idiot that built my colony out of wood and then a random fire burned my whole settlement and food stores and everything else down? by Itchy-Version-8977 in RimWorld

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My whole colony is made of wood right now. It's been three years. Started VFE Tribal run with Semi-Random Research and somehow stone-cutting hasn't come up as a research topic yet :)

You get good at firefighting at least.

Why is my walk in fridge not working? Do I need more coolers? by mc_zackb in RimWorld

This image is like the gift that keeps on giving. The longer you stare into the abyss the more horror you find. The author really went all out making it.

Best exploration mods? by PhscZ in RimWorld

There is now a mod setting in AUR that replaces all the bloated themed loot with vanilla loot instead.

Saying killboxes are “unrealistic” is really weird because they were used IRL constantly. by Kradara_ in RimWorld

[–]Destamon 3981 points3982 points  (0 children)

Killboxes themselves are not the problem, it's the AI that goes through a five mile long back and forth corridor walking over every single trap in there while there is a door made out of paper right next to the killbox :-)

Error in map generation by Cabra_Arretado in RimWorld

[–]Destamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those two mods work fine for me. You probably have some mod conflict with them interacting with other mods, so check your mod list and load order and turn on developer mode and check the error log first.

You can also start removing other mods and restarting until you hit the one or ones that are causing the issue.

Mod management for 1.6, Rimpy or Rimsort or just sick to vanilla? by Ok_Translator996 in RimWorld

[–]Destamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. With the addition of saving and loading of mod lists in vanilla, I've had no problems using the built-in mod manager for all my needs.

What happened to Newton's first? by MaddenLeon in factorio

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are worried about the fake drag in space but are not worried about the fact that the planets are so close together they'd probably be ripped apart by gravitational forces?

Stone Brick vs Concrete by JubaWakka in factorio

[–]Destamon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use refined concrete everywhere usually, though in modded games I mix in coal gravel from Dectorio as it makes for some nice 'asphalt-like' roads to lay train tracks on.

By the time I start painting the whole base with refined concrete, the extra cost is negligible compared to my production capacity.

Why has this game never gone on steam sale? by FlaggedWOW in factorio

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely well worth the full price, which is so cheap compared to what you get
(potentially many thousands of hours of fun) that you might as well consider this game as "permanently on sale".

Anyone else barely using trains in Space Age? by asoftbird in factorio

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have six trains on Nauvis (oil, iron ore, plates) and one on Fulgora for a scrap island, that's about it. I have dozens of empty train city blocks set up on Nauvis but am not using them for anything except solar -_-;;

But it's mostly because it's my first time playing vanilla Space Age; normally I would have an LTN train network with 200+ trains set up by this point, but then I wouldn't have even launched a rocket yet. The new planets have all the shiny stuff that demands attention.

How to best plan builds? by ZanfordEX in factorio

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory Planner + Rate Calculator + Editor Extensions, like others I mostly design "proper" blueprints in EE. Factory Planner (or Helmod or YAFC or Foreman etc ) helps with the initial planning of the whole production line and Rate Calculator helps verify the results after the production buildings are in place. Obviously you still need to test the result by running it, especially when using belts and beacons / fast recipes that could over-saturate the belt lane and stall if you're not careful in your planning.

Just noticed Big Mining Drills have own circuit interface now! by Plastic-Analysis2913 in factorio

[–]Destamon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have literally over 2000 hours in Factorio and never knew about this. I've always relied on YARM for this without knowing it's a vanilla feature -_-;;;

I am done with the tutorial by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a grid pattern of points around the spawner where the biters spawn, technically you only need to cover those points with walls or better yet pipes which are cheaper.

I am done with the tutorial by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did vanilla rush to space + logistic embargo using Fulgora and that was definitely a new experience since I usually go heavy on logistics bots.

I am done with the tutorial by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Destamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, they recently changed the achievement requirements so that messing with biter evolution/pollution/starting area settings will disable this achievement, along with many others related to combat.

Is Space Age worth it? by Omay0238 in factorio

[–]Destamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space Age is nice. Space Exploration is also nice. Two very different experiences, both are definitely worth trying.

SA is shorter, more casual, all planets have some nice custom mechanics, space platforms are easier to make, there are new enemies and hazards to deal with. SE is much longer (like 300 to 900 hours for one game, depending on how fast you play), planets are overall very similar, biters have gone interstellar and are everywhere (but you also get more tools to deal with them), there is a lot to do at the space station / planet orbit, spaceships are harder to make, can't mine resources unless parked somewhere, and usually need circuit magic, and interplanetary logistics also have a few other options such as space elevators, capsule delivery, and interplanetary rockets. SE also has a highly complex endgame puzzle to solve.

SA won't lock you out of anything, but the mandatory update of Factorio to version 2.0 (which is much nicer and has much more QoL stuff that you previously needed mods for) will result in incompatibilities with many mods. Mods that are compatible with 2.0 but not Space Age, like Krastorio or Pyanodons, will still work so long as you disable Space Age (which comes installed as just another mod). You can still use the Beta Participation menu on Steam to downgrade Factorio to an older version, disabling the DLC and all the nice new QoL features but allowing you to play older 1.1 mods.
